Leighton Allen Labute (born: September 11, 2000 (2000-09-11) [age 23]), better known online as DollyFlesh (formerly MiseryMagic), is a Canadian former YouTuber, animator, vlogger, and sculptor known for uploading clay animations often featuring disturbing content.

In 2019, he uploaded a video in which he tortured and murdered three hamsters. The video gained significant attention and eventually led to his arrest and the termination of his main YouTube channel. He has not been active online since.

History[]

DollyFlesh's early internet activity began on May 1, 2016, where he began to post clay gore and dismemberment onto Instagram under the name "MiseryMagic". Later in the year, he created a YouTube channel, where he posted violent and gory content he originally created back in 2013. DollyFlesh expressed that he loved the clay art style and would begin animating soon after.[1]

Content[]

Much of his content contains clay stop motion animations which had gory and disturbing elements, similarly to David Firth or Lee Hardcastle. Many of his videos depicted serial killers murdering, torture, dismemberment, cannibalism, sexual assault, animal abuse, etc. One recurring character that appears is named Itchy the Clown, who is inspired by the serial killer, John Wayne Gacy. DollyFlesh would occasionally post live vlogs and skits onto the channel. Some of these would sometimes use clay as well, such as him eating a clay sculpture and lactating milk from clay breasts.[2]

Other channels[]

DollyFlesh created another channel in 2020 named "FleshDolly", where he would post Let's Plays of Counter Strike, Half Life, Bendy and the Ink Machine, etc.

Another account exists called "MushyFlesh", created in the same year, though only one video was ever uploaded to the channel.

On May 6, 2019, DollyFlesh made a Twitter post contemplating on buying pet hamsters.[3] On May 14, he would upload a vlog on YouTube which showcased him playing with three new pet hamsters on his bed.[4] The next day, on May 15, he would upload another video showcasing the torture and killing of the hamsters, each by stabbing and amputation, being drowned and crushed, and being microwaved to death. The video was immediately taken down, though fans contacted authorities for his arrest. Some of his fans had previously raised concern of his dissociation with reality, as some of his YouTube and Instagram posts would discuss his frustrations of being a virgin and misogynistic statements, such as posting sexual clay images of himself murdering or torturing women and animals. He had also said he was hoping to buy a sex doll since he doesn't have to ask it to have sex.[5]

On May 25, 2020, DollyFlesh was arrested for two accounts of murder and abuse, though he was later released after paying a $1,000 bail.[6] On August 16, 2021, his trial took place, where he was put under an 18-month conditional sentence and four to five years of supervision. Some of the conditions include staying off of social media, being under curfew, and being prohibited from entering pet shops. When police asked why he murdered the hamsters, he said he was "bored" and "entertained by it" and hadn't shown remorse for doing so.[7] This would lead to protests for his imprisonment around his home and in the Kelowna area.[8] His main channel was terminated on January 14, 2022, having 2,460 subscribers and 421,306 views.

A former friend of DollyFlesh named Allie claimed that they became friends since they had the same interest in horror films and their personal life. Allie had noticed that he had idolized serial killers and mass murderers, such as Tsutomu Miyazaki and Edward Paisnel. He had also wanted to murder all of his classmates at school because the females had rejected him and had created multiple plans, such as poisoning the water fountains or putting mustard gas in the vents. DollyFlesh had wanted to be in a relationship with her and had asked invasive questions and sent her nude photos of himself, though Allie didn't mind at first. DollyFlesh had also bought hamsters in response to Allie buying gerbils and had planned "something big". When she found out that he killed them, she cut communication from him and contacted his local police department. Allie theorized that he was obsessed with her and wanted to keep her updated about the murdering.[9]

Trivia[]

  • He has been diagnosed with severe autism, which doctors theorized had led to bullying in school.
  • He has previously admitted to stepping on and killing a baby duck.
