A look at the premiere night for ESPN+'s 'Full Court Press' which features Iowa's Caitlin Clark

During her time with the Iowa Hawkeyes, Caitlin Clark moved the needle for women’s college basketball like it had never been moved before.

Time and time again, fans packed out arenas home and away to catch a glimpse of the Iowa star. Clark also brought record TV viewership on a number of occasions. That included the 2024 national championship game between Iowa and South Carolina which smashed the record viewership mark for a women’s basketball game, drawing in an average of 18.7 million viewers and peaking with 24 million viewers.

Before Clark’s final season at Iowa began, she had already caught the attention of former Indianapolis Colts and Denver Broncos Super Bowl-championship winning quarterback Peyton Manning.

Manning founded the production company Omaha Productions in 2020 and had great success with his collaboration alongside NFL Films to produce “Quarterback,” a docuseries that followed and detailed the 2022 NFL seasons for quarterbacks Patrick Mahomes, Kirk Cousins and Marcus Mariota.

Prior to this 2023-24 women’s college basketball season, Manning pitched the idea of creating something similar for women’s college basketball to Clark at Iowa, Kamilla Cardoso at South Carolina and Kiki Rice at UCLA.

All of them said yes to the idea of a documentary that would follow them around during their respective 2023-24 seasons. What Manning created is the four-part ESPN+ docuseries titled “Full Court Press.”

Its world premiere took place Monday night in Indianapolis from the Tobias Theater. A number of stars were in attendance to take in the premiere, including Clark, Cardoso, Rice, Manning, South Carolina head coach Dawn Staley and Iowa head women’s basketball coach Lisa Bluder.

“I think there’s always other women’s basketball legends supporting women’s basketball, that’s never been the issue. It’s like almost other sports, and I think that’s grown so much Whether it’s football players, whether it’s men’s basketball players, whether it’s golfers, swimmers, you can go down the list of the amount of professional athletes or even just public figures, famous public figures that are now supporting women’s basketball, investing in women’s basketball… for me, that’s the coolest thing,” Clark said after the Indiana Fever’s practice on Monday.

The documentary begins with Iowa’s historic Crossover at Kinnick scrimmage, follows the trio through their respective seasons and ends with the 2024 WNBA draft in Brooklyn where Clark became the No. 1 overall selection to the Fever.

The documentary will make its TV debut on Saturday beginning at noon CT and on Sunday at 11:30 a.m. on ABC. It will have further streaming ability on ESPN+ and Hulu.

As the rest of the world waits for the TV debut, here’s a taste of what the premiere night for “Full Court Press” looked like for Clark and Iowa in Indy. Plus, a peek at the teaser trailer that Omaha Productions dropped recently.
