Rio Hackford (1970–2022), actor in “Treme,” “The Mandalorian”

Rio Hackford was an actor who played Toby in “Treme” and Grayden Nash in “Jonah Hex.”

Acting career

Hackford was the son of filmmaker Taylor Hackford, and the stepson of actress Helen Mirren. His early career included an uncredited performance in “Pretty Woman” as well as small roles in “Exit to Eden” and “Swingers.” Many knew Hackford best for his recurring role in “Treme,” playing record store clerk Toby. He went on to play Pat McKenna in “The People vs. O.J. Simpson: American Crime Story” and bounty hunter Riot Mar in “The Mandalorian.” Also in “The Mandalorian,” Hackford provided the motion capture work for droid IG-11, voiced by Taika Waititi. Most recently, he had a small role in the miniseries “Pam & Tommy.” Hackford also owned several bars in New Orleans, San Francisco, and Los Angeles.
