South Forsyth High School Reviews

SFHS itself is a great school, with responsible teachers and rigorous programs that do a good job at preparing students for college. However, compared to our competitor school- Lambert High School, our school culture becomes overshadowed. Administration has become very stingy with what clubs are allowed to do, our arts honor society proposed many ideas, including painting a mural at school, attending a local art market, selling Christmas cards, etc. All have been shut down by the administration. There are also few school-wide events being organized aside from sports, which makes it feel like there's barely any school spirit. Students definitely feel more connected to their individual groups than the student body as a whole, the sense of community at SFHS feels lacking. This can be felt academically too. Competition is overwhelming, and students fight for leadership positions for the sake of college apps, even when they feel no real connection to the club.
South is a really good school for academics, it's got a lot of clubs and so many classes to take that it's very easy to find friends or something that interests you. Unfortunately the school doesn't have great wifi and it's not the most up to date on technology in comparison to other schools. The buildings are a mix of new and very old but it still works ok. Overall it's a pretty good place to go to school at and it's very safe. No fights ever happen here and we're right next to a police station so we never get any threats
Coming in to South Forsyth High School after doing virtual/home school all my life was pretty much what I expected. It was pretty dry and boring from my experience and I can't say I made a lot of friends. The teachers are decent though. They try their best to help you and make you get what you need to get done, teaching, showing and sharing content that needs to be learned. Over all the experience was mediocre and I'm excited for it to finally be over. I'm wishing that my upcoming college experience will be better. I do believe I played a role in how South Forsyth High School went for me. I believe if I would have been more outgoing It would have been possibly a little better. Some good changes I would like to see is more clubs and more fun activities. I think that would really change the school. I think this school also needs some more diversity and that's really it!
