About

Genius Annotation

Only a couple of weeks after Mura Masa published his self-titled debut album, he released a new, experimental sound called “Untitled,” featuring jazz musician Moses Boyd.

It’s a six-minute adventure that starts with languid bell synth melodies and moody atmospherics. Halfway through, it’s more techy noise than sweet melodies. “Untitled” becomes a cool, tribal techno tune, and then the song comes full circle, ending where it began.
It’s pretty funky, definitely different from the tropical party on Mura Masa, lest anyone try to put the young man in a box. Boyd is dastardly on the jazz drums.
