      Obviously an all time classic. Kind of slammed the doors open for anyone who was remotely interested with the soul, funk, jazz, rare groove, rock samples many Hip Hop artists were implementing in their productions. Admittedly it was happening for a while before this one came out. Loops of snippets were standard by acts such as BDP, J.V.C. Force, EPMD, Public Enemy, Eric B & Rakim etc (won't go as far back as the late '70s, early '80s when the original Hip Hop DJs were playing the records live). But samples of whole sections of backing tracks weren't as common. Both of the main mixes are classics in their own right. I think the swingier breaks version was probably the most popular with the masses, but I think my firm preference is the smoother and rather timeless classic jazz-funk Dominoes Mixes. Perhaps I'm biased, but this is one of several records which brings back a time when Hip Hop seemed very positive for me.

        My copy has silver inkjet centres and is USA 640 DJ so is this a promo? Does anybody else have this version? Can't find it on here anywhere.

            I feel lucky today!! Just recieved this classic, classic release in mint condition. Won it on ebay.co.uk (German seller) for as little as £8.98; yum yum!! Have only seen this once before, on gemm.com for $172.50!! It's still there if you are interested (type: Artist= "dimitri from paris", scroll down to T as in 'Talkin All That Jazz', UK seller), but what a ridiculous price for a 2x12", I for sure would never pay that much, unless money meant nothing to me...
            Ohh but maybe you would, 'cause this is a bad m.f. release ;)
            The Dim remixes are an OLD SKOOL, JAZZ, FUNK, HIP HOP kinda ride through HOUSE terrain and a ride I do over and over and over and over, again and again. Not being that much of a raphead, it's niice that there's also some rapless versions. On the other hand it's also fun to play around with the handy dandy clap a pella (which is actually a rap/clap a pella). YUM YUM!!
