The 2020 count officially began on Tuesday, 21 January, in Toksook Bay, Alaska. The enumeration traditionally begins the count in Alaska to ensure that remote villages are accurately counted.

This was the first United States census to invite people to complete the census for their household online. The website my2020census.gov (offline as of 30 November 2020) began allowing entries on 12 March, 2020. Respondents were asked to count where people were living as of 1 April, 2020. The enumeration officially closed on 15 October, 2020.

The first results for the 2020 Census were released on April 26, 2021.[1]
