Why do I have to pay Sony to play Minecraft on servers if neither Sony's servers are? Minecraft servers are maintained by the owners themselves, such as HiveMC, LifeBoat and MinePlex. To create your own server you need to have Realms Plus, which you pay Mojang to give you access to their servers. Where does Sony fit into this? Why PSPlus?

I mean neither does cod or rdr2 and they require ps plus to play online its just how it is for xbox aswell.

It’s Sony’s platform, they sell most of their consoles at a los, this is how they make consecutive revenue. It’s kind of their whole business plan

You have to have plus in order to play any online game.
The only ones that don’t need plus is free-to-play games, like fortnite.
But the question is, why does Sony need the money for this? In the case of Minecraft, playing online doesn't use any Sony resources.
because there are people that wants to pay for it... i just solved playing online games on pc and single player games on console.
in order to play with other users online whether you pay for a feature in game, you need psplus.
