Hey, so I got a replacement storm in the mail today so I need to send the old one back. I got the replacement because the screen on my storm doesn't come on anymore. Basically i can see the backlight come on but the screen remains black.

I would like to reset my old phone back to the factory settings before i send it back, but is there anyway to do that if the screen doesn't come on? Thanks for any help you can give me.

You could download bbsak or go to options/security options and do a security wipe.

You can do a full wipe and install .148 without restoring from a backup.

Don't need to read the screen to do a full wipe/os install. Just use loader and install the standard .148 (for Verizon) having loader erase everything and not restore from backup. It's all handled on the PC.

Thank you for the information. I was wondering how one would do it.

ok, so I have a mac, so what i would do is go onto the desktop manager for mac and load the latest os? i'm on telus so the latest is .122 so i would just load that? sorry for the seemingly obvious questions, i'm new to all this.

    Hmmm...

I don't know if DM will wipe for you, and I don't know if loader will run on the Mac (not a lot of experience with Macs). In fact, I'm not sure if JL or BBSAK run on Mac's either...

    I'm Mac challenged.

On a PC loader lives in [Program Files\Common Files\Research In Motion\AppLoader]; I don't know where that would be, or if Loader would even exist on a Mac... sorry I'm not much help with this.
