Kent-Meridian High School Reviews
Rating 3.72 out of 5 385 reviews
This school is a melting pot of cultures all around the world. I’m so lucky to have spent my time as a high schooler there because it gave me the unique opportunity to experience other people’s cultures everyday. Most of the staff are the most friendly people you’ll meet and most genuinely care for and wish to connect with their students. One downside to the school is its safety though, there have been a lot of times where I’ve experienced lockdowns because of something going on near or on campus. But overall, I really enjoyed my time at KM!
Experience almost always depends on your teachers and friends. Many teachers will pretend to care and then prove they don't. There are plenty of resources for many things (like free hygiene products or college help) but it takes YOU to go and seek it out, even if it is advertised.
The best part about this high school is the fact everyone is different and comes from all over the world. Meeting new people, listening to stories on how they got here from their country or island, it's like an amazing culture shock that is honestly so fun. Worst parts of my experience here is how often people fight, I hate that there is a fight like every month on campus or next to the campus and sometimes the teachers don't be doing anything. Another part is lock down drills almost every week from someone pulling the fire alarm or a student bringing weapons. I would love to see the increase on security like metal detectors or even more cameras or security to avoid the drugs and the fights as well so students can come to learn and not come for stuff that isn't school related.
