Reflecting on my time at the history school, I find myself overwhelmed with gratitude for the enriching experience it has been. Immersed in the tapestry of the past, every lesson felt like a journey through time, unraveling the mysteries and complexities of human history. The passionate educators, with their depth of knowledge and enthusiasm, ignited within me a profound curiosity and appreciation for the past. Beyond textbooks, the school offered immersive experiences like historical reenactments and field trips, bringing history to life in vivid detail. It's not just about memorizing dates and events; it's about understanding the interconnectedness of civilizations and the lessons they offer for the present and future. This school has truly shaped me into a more informed, empathetic, and intellectually curious individual.
I believe my experience at Stevenson was amazing! I am a very involved student so i went to many football, soccer, basketball, hockey, etc games, as well as joined multiple clubs, and went to many plays us students hosted at our school. Stevenson really allows anyone to get involved in extracurriculars.
Stevenson is an amazing academic school. Made the transition from HS to college very easy. I’d never try to take that away from AES. However, this school really struggles in the sense of identity and culture. Stevenson is a huge school, which means sharing a lot of the opportunities presented. It’s difficult to build a sense of identity when you’re surrounded by as many children as an entire small town usually has in total. Competition is tight on sports. Nearly all students come from a place of privledge, distorting your world view and leading to some tight cliques, usually with whomever parents are friends. Additionally, AES pushes college really hard on their students. With college becoming worth less, i wish some trades or other opportunities were presented to us. Stevenson did a great job of preparing me academically but not giving me experience to the real world and opportunities outside of their clear cut funnel.
