Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Went to several performances this trip. Some are free and others very affordable for world-class performances. Young players are of the best and not at all jaded or tired. You will not hear anything much better.

The orchestra was youngsters 12-18. Brilliant playing with a brilliant young conductor. The Pete Jay Sharp Theatre an outstanding venue.
The pianist aged 12 was performing her first solo with an orchestra - top Beethoven playing. All these players come to the School every Saturday for their mentoring while attending regular school during the week.

A joy to attend a wonderful performance.

This is one of the top music schools in the country. It's worth taking a tour and attending a free student concert. Two parking garages on the street. Centrally located in Lincoln Center.

We had high expectations for the New Dances Julliard presentations. We did not enjoy any of rhe classic or more modern presentations. Although technique is relevant, the shows must be enjoyable by the public. This one was not.

Take advantage of visiting one of the top music schools in the universe. Go to their website and they always have free events going on, whether they are recitals by the students or they have noon concert series at Alice Tully next door. Their student orchestra concerts are generally in the evenings and they are wonderful.

If you are a prospective student or you are just interested in the school, you could also schedule a free tour with their student affairs office. The school has recently been renovated and it's amazing to go take a look around.

The regular weekly student concerts present excellent quality classical programs and are FREE. The small auditorium is intimate and has excellent acoustics; it is ideal for solo or chamber music. These young people are the next generation who keeps the flame and spirit of classical music alive.

Juilliard trained many world-famous musicians. With the foundation of classical training, some pursue a traditional classical music performance career in solo (Itzhak Perlman), orchestras (David Kim) or chamber music. Some in Jazz (Wynton Marsalis, trumpet). Some Pop (David Garrett). Some composing (John Williams). Some teaching. In addition to music, Juilliard also has Dance and Drama (Robin Williams).

They have a first rate faculty and students are nurtured very early on.

Every Wednesday at 1:00pm, Juilliard students perform at Alice Tully Hall. These concerts are open to the public and are free of charge. The standards are incredibly high - higher than many professional performances in other parts of the country. We attended an orchestral performance of a Richard Strauss work paired with Beethoven's Seventh Symphony. It highlighted two young conducting students and was outstanding!

We were fortunate to see a Dance Repertory Performance in the Peter Jay Sharp Theater this past week. The dancers, orchestra and choir were wonderful.

Adjacent to Lincoln center so be sure to not miss if attending any Lincoln Center event just so you can say you were there. Juilliard also has several performances so check out their offerings. Tip: There are occasional free performances by students that are worthy of attendance. Go to Juilliard's website to see events scheduled during your visit.

At $30 a comparatively short but excellent value experience. The music was varied and the young musicians played to a high standard. The hall is modern and perhaps lacks "atmosphere" but enjoyable and recommended. (And the Indie restaurant close by was convenient, efficient and good value too. So much to do at the Lincoln Center - we spent four consecutive evenings at its venues!)
