Theodore "Ted" SEIDEL

Theodore Ted
SEIDEL

It is with great sadness that the family of Ted (Theordore David Seidel) announce his passing at St. Paul's Hospital from complications following a recent cancer diagnosis. Ted was born in Cameron, Manitoba and spent his early years in Weekes, Sask. His father, Ted Sr., then moved the family to Saskatoon where upon Ted attended Bedford Collegiate. Upon graduation, Ted went to work for Westfair foods for 15 years as a store manager of various OK Economy stores throughout the province. Ted decided it was time to set up his own business and began operation of his own service station and commercial car cleaning business. Upon realizing the economy was changing, Ted decided to enter a new business phase and opened Third Avenue Pawnbrokers which he ran successfully until he retired. Outdoors, including all sporting, hunting and fishing allowed him to travel throughout Northern Saskatchewan in search of big game. Ted joined his friends at Black Spruce Lodge and there he made many wonderful memories with family and friends. His love for the outdoors kept growing and he decided to try his hand at cattle farming and bought a small piece of paradise at Arma Acres. If Ted could be outside in the garden, on the acreage cutting grass or on his Polaris sled in the winter ice fishing, he was a happy man. Ted is survived by his spouse, Brenda Reddick; along with his four children, Trent (Donna), Curtis (Almira), Sheri (Darcy) and Kimberley (Steve). Ted will be lovingly remembered by his grandchildren, Anthony (Aaron Leigh), Aaron (Raeanne), Kaytlynn (Nathan), Ethan, Mackenzie and Riley; and great-grandchild, Damian. Ted is also survived by his brother, Gary of Woodlands, Manitoba. Ted was man with a heart of gold that would do anything for you. He will be greatly missed and some of his stories will be repeated for years to come. Family and friends are invited to attend Ted's service that will be held on Tuesday May 21, 2024 at 11:00 a.m. at the McClure United Church, Saskatoon. For those unable to attend the service, the family invites you to join the service via livestream. To view the livestream and leave condolences please visit www.saskatoonfuneralhome.com. In lieu of flowers donations in Ted's memory may be made to the Saskatoon SPCA. Arrangements entrusted to the Saskatoon Funeral Home (306-244-5577)

Plant a tree: How does it work

When your purchase is complete, a post will be made on the tribute wall of the deceased signifying the planting of a memorial tree.

An official certificate recognizing your purchase will be included with your email receipt. You can then forward the email to the family or print it and give it to them personally.

After an order is placed, our forestry partners will plant the tree in the area of greatest need (nearest the funeral home), according to the planting schedule for the year.

Due to seasonal conditions, the tree planting takes place during the spring and summer.
