Fredericktown High School JROTC 10th Annual Raider Challenge

The Fredericktown High School JROTC 10th Annual Raider Challenge was held April 13.

There were 13 teams from 9 schools from Missouri, Illinois, and Kansas competing in 7 team events 5K Run, Gauntlet, 1 Rope Bridge, Cross Country Rescue (CCR), Physical Team Test (PTT), Obstacle Course, Excalibur and an individual Ultimate Raider event.

JROTC Army Instructor (AI) First Sergeant Brian Cofer said the home Raider Meet was held in honor of Paul McFerron who passed away recently and was a huge supporter not only of the Raider team, but the JROTC program as a whole.  He said the JROTC will be naming the home competition in his honor from this point forward.

The school s competing were: Fredericktown High School; Missouri Military Academy (MMA), Mexico, MO; Nixa High School, Nixa, MO; Poplar Bluff High School, Poplar Bluff, MO; Scott Regional Technology Center (SRTC), Monnett, MO; Truman High School, Independence, MO

Auburn High School, Rockford, IL; Junction City High School, Junction City, KS; and Topeka West High School, Topeka, KS.

Fredericktown Team members were: Dawson Cook, Natanel Tash, Skyler Sandman, Leif Olson, Christopher Hudson, Jayden West, Brandon Guzman, Parker Terry, Little Williams, Colton Crowell, (Not pictured) Jadyn Yount, Luke Robbins, and Autumn Bess.

At the end of the day’s competition Fredericktown placed in 6 of the 7 team events and was 1st place overall.  Fredericktown senior Dawson Cook placed 1st in the Ultimate Raider (male) event.  Team event top 3 places were:
