A great place to walk in the city and feel fresh. This beautifully kept garden has many plants and ponds. If you are in Halifax and have an hour to spare, I would recommend you to visit this public garden.

This is a crazy walk uphill. An issue if you have vertigo. There is a parking lot with all day parking so you won't need to walk like crazy. We were there at 9am and received a tour from a lady dressed in period costume. It was interesting as many staff were in period costume. There was an opportunity to dress as a soldier. It was educational and walking distance from the Halifax Public Gardens. I believe kids under 18 were free. Worth visiting.

A very interesting museum. I won’t write about the museum itself - there’s already a lot of information about it, I’ll write about my impressions: I would like a slightly larger size to accommodate more exhibits, and I was partly upset by the fact that the Titanic model was relatively small in size, unlike other ship(confused with Mauretania). Otherwise a very nice place with a wide variety of interesting exhibits. There are even interesting places for children (I didn’t take pictures of the room with the research vessel, since there were a lot of children there).

This came highly recommended as one of the top museums in Halifax and it did not disappoint. We have no connection to anyone who immigrated, but that doesn’t matter; very informative. We did the short 30 min. guided tour before exploring on our own. Also, don’t miss the I’m Canada film. All very worthwhile. Really interesting seeing the interactive display of where immigrants originated over the last 500 years. If you have time for only one museum, make this that one.

Nice walk (even though a bit cold in April). There are no sea lions or anything like that - but its a beautiful view of the harbor and ships. There are lots of stores and restaurants - and things to do. Not many tourists, so we had it to ourselves.

The tour guides were very friendly and knowledgeable. The ceilidh was fun. Beautiful building with lots of history. Only negative, they allow small children on the tours; the children lacked interest and were somewhat disruptive and took away from the experience. I would have given the tour a 5 star if it wasn’t for the children attending.

From the outside the building looks modern and very beautiful, but when I first came in I didn’t expect that I would be surprised inside either. An intersection of stairs, a protruding reading zone on the top floor, a small cafeteria and an exit to the roof (closed in winter) next to it. An unusual library style for me.
Just like in the library not far from our house, there are computers to sit and do your business. Computers to register/check your profile and books with different languages, various rooms for classes, including small rooms that can be occupied for some kind of meeting I assume. Everything is in greater volume than in other branches... and of course a lot more books.
This place was a little disconcerting in a pleasant way.
And of course the staff here is very polite and pleasant to talk to.

Every time I’m in Halifax I take a trip across the Harbour to Dartmouth. Sometimes I go to Woodside, other times I go to Alderney. On a warm, sunny day it’s wonderful to sit top deck and admire the Halifax skyline and watch the other boats going by. Although it’s a short trip, I always feel like I’m going somewhere far away.

My husband and I visited this cemetery while in Halifax. This cemetery is known for having graves from victims of the Titanic and the Halifax explosion of 1917. It's a must-see for anyone interested in the sinking of the Titanic. Halifax has a few Titanic sites to visit, but this cemetery has the majority of the graves. The famed J Dawson grave is located here. The cemetery was easy to drive around and has signs leading you in the proper direction.

I had done a lot of walking during my day in Downtown Halifax, but I did want to see some of the more rural parts of the city. This park offers many walkways through these deep tree-lined woods. I really enjoyed the ability to get in touch with nature while I was visiting one of the biggest cities of Canada. I was sure that the fall foliage must have been amazing here. There was free parking on the premises. Downtown Halifax was about a ten (10)-minute drive away.

This is an Erik only review as Cheryl did not attend. I visited here on August 26,2023. The entry fee is by donation. The tour of the ship is self-guided. There is staff readily available to ask questions. There are numerous items to read and displays to view. The ship is in very good shape. This a nice piece of WW2 history and worth a visit while in Halifax.

We were in town for this tattoo that was only 3 days long, getting ready to celebrate Canada today. We ended up getting tickets for the first night. This was an amazing experience.

It's a lot of marching military bands and a lot of bagpipes, and they also had the Highland dancers girls from Scotland that were really good. If You do not like loud marching band music or bagpipes, this is not for you.

They had some visiting bands from South Korea, Switzerland, the United States, Germany, and England, and the bands participated in different things. But it was all about music.

This was a really good experience and not something I have ever experienced before in the United States. So I was really happy to go.
