Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

What travellers are saying
- Gregg CReigate, UK410 contributionsLoved it here. The views are spectacular and the private road drive is stunning. The church and graveyard are well worth a visit and the view point at the top of the Orme are out of this world.
Definitely go if you’re in the area.Written 2 June 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Would be difficult to see/do everything in one day so it's great that you get a free revisit within 7 days.
Lovely enclosures/ habitats and animals seem content. Soft play great for 18 months +
Great outdoor play areas and lots of them.
We took a picnic so can't comment on food. Coffee was bitter and undrinkable from the place near the softplay.
A great day out that our toddler thoroughly enjoyed.
One grievance was that the disabled access wasn't the best. I couldn't find a disabled toilet; no signs and, probably because it was a weekday term time, I couldn't find a member of staff. Didn't want to waste time so ended up queuing and using the regular toilets but this could have gone very differently.
Final note the gift shop was amazing. Lots of teddies and toys and souvenirs and very reasonable prices EXCEPT I did see a bottle of suncream priced at ÂŁ10 which I think is very naughty and taking advantage of forgetful parents.Written 8 June 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - GlobetrottingSwedeParis, France3,949 contributionsThis medieval castle is quite unique with its setting right on the water. Easy to walk around and visit by yourself with the different explanations on the signs. Also, a quite interesting film about the history of the castle and the Royal family.Written 7 June 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Nicola V16 contributionsWe visited on recommendation from a local. Absolutely brilliant experience, especially if you are lucky enough to get guide and comic, Steve! So informative and hilarious. Was a brilliant start to our holiday. A good insight into the workings of the mine and what people endured.Written 2 June 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - S hWolverhampton, UK21 contributionsWeather was beautiful which always helps. Interesting place to visit, some bits could do with a lick of paint to tidy it up, shame not to keep it in tiptop condition. - DP_Gluten_FreeSheffield, UK339 contributionsHistoric monument not to be missed. Definitely worth a visit but to get full value you need to climb open stairs and walk around battlements which is not for those with limited walking capability.Written 2 June 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Carl P90 contributionsThe views are great the beach is rocky you can walk the full length from little orm to great orm.
Top tip for the prom in Llandudno is don't eat food on it unless you use one of the shelters. I spent many days sat on it watching people and the sea and seeing people attacked by birds while they ate on the prom.Written 2 June 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. With an amazing collection of paintings, sculpture, furniture and tapestries, you might be surprised at what you find at Powis. Sadly you can’t take photos inside the castle.
The estates Clive Museum features more than 300 items from India and the Far East in the largest private collection of its type in the UK.
You can explore the beautiful Italianate terraces, spectacular yew hedges, lead statues and lavish herbaceous borders.Written 1 June 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Ice cream from the cafe and a walk down some steep steps to the "little castle" type building to sit and take in the views with my 4 year old grand daughter. She loved it and its fine as long as children stay supervised at all times. Not suitable for children younger as some big steep steps and bot really any safety or hand rails down.Written 27 May 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Louise WLondon, UK67 contributionsA beautiful, understated, calm and peaceful place to visit. I felt so welcomed, and enjoyed walking around and learning more about the history.
Some cathedrals are showy grand affairs, thrusting religion in your face. St David’s is the opposite. It has a feeling of wonder and awe yes, but because it is beautiful in its simplicity, I didn’t feel overwhelmed or as if I didn’t belong, quite the opposite.
I can see why many pilgrims make the journey here.
Enjoyed some delicious Welsh cakes in the cafe too.Written 20 April 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
