Calabasas High School Reviews
Rating 3.74 out of 5 309 reviews
Calabasas High School is a public school that feels like a private school. The education is great, there are tons of AP courses offered, including the AP Capstone program. We are consistently very strong in many national events such as Model UN. Our music and theater program is amazing, and we have a Performing Arts Center. We always seem to send our students to great colleges. The only real complaint I have is with administration. It feels like we are locked up, and the protocols with off campus and bell schedule is changing every year.
I have a good experience when it comes to clubs at my school. I am part of two clubs: National Honor Society and Hang Out and Do Good (we pack lunches for the homeless). The music/Arts program at my school is also one of the highlights of my school. I am part of my school's intermediate choir, Voce Della Vita. The Music/Arts program offers many different classes. The teachers in the program care so much and are always trying to improve our experience. The people are kind and it's a wonderful community. Regarding schedule changes, I have a bad experience. Not all the teachers teach well, or don't teach in a way that I understand. When I request to switch out into another class, the councilors won't help or do anything. The councilors gave me the impression that they don't care enough to help me get the best learning I can.
My experience at Calabasas High School was for the most part good. I enjoyed the culture and the kids throughout my 4 years and most of the classes were really interactive and fun to learn in. I did however find the lower level classes were not as great of a learning environment as the teachers had less of a grasp on the class. This could have just been a result of the kids and how they act in a supposedly “easy” class and choose not to take it seriously but I found that AP classes and teachers were much more dedicated to helping the students learn here.
