Florence's Obituary
Florence Louise Spray King, 89 years of age, was promoted to glory on 19 April 2024. She was the daughter of William Sterling Spray and Carrie Ophelia Boast Spray of Sheridan, AR and widow of Robert. H. King. She was preceded in death by her parents and sister, Arlene Spray McMurray and her brother, Wedell Spray.
She is survived by her children: Sharon King Plumlee of Star City, AR, Monica King Cheers of Wilmington, NC, Scott King of Burgaw, NC, Marcella King Turner of Snow Camp, NC, Stewart King of Fairfax, VA and Savonna King of Burlington, NC. There are 11 grandchildren, 7 great-grandchildren and 2 great-great-grandchildren.
Mrs. King was in fellowship with Wilmington Bible Chapel, serving the Lord as a pianist for over 40 years and worked with the children’s ministry as an AWANA leader and award winning AWANA Olympic coach. For a brief time, Louise worked as an oncology nurse. She also witnessed for her Lord by presenting American cooking classes to Japanese ladies in her home for over 17 years.
A time of praise and visitation will be held at 10 am, 1 hour prior to her funeral service at Andrews Mortuary on Market Street, Wilmington, NC on April 26, 2024.
