- Francione mangia mangiaAmsterdam, The Netherlands47 contributionsThis gallery with the connected garden is one of the pearls of Wageningen and I strongly recommend you check it out next time you are in this area. First, the entrance to both the gallery and the beautiful park are free, so no complaints about that. Second, the park has all botanical names and tags on each plant so if you want to discover more about botany, this is a must. And third, the gallery offers interesting anatomical sculptures from national and international artists. Finally, you can also just sit at the cafè while enjoying the view on the park, or browsing around the shop where they sell their own produced honey--> YummyWritten November 3, 2019This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Amazing place to relax, get some good fresh air and enjoy the lovelly space that the Restaurant has created for their guest to sit safely during these testing times with Covid-19.
I felt really safe due to the professionalism of the Staff, their approach was respectful and the food was delicious too. The Koffie plateau was a real treat too! Particularly impressed by the films showing the area during the World War 11, spent a long time reading the history, in English, as an uncle was involved in Operation Market Garden. Will revisit when next in Wageningen visiting my son to continue watching the films.Written March 12, 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. There are some nice places to sit down, perfect for enjoying the sunset or listening to all the birds.
The forest trails are also great for running, biking and dog walking.
Only a 20 minutes bike ride from the centre of Wageningen. Definitely a nice alternative to the botanical gardens, if you want a relaxing time or want to do some bird watching!Written May 10, 2019This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. The nature area is just a couple of minutes biking from the centre of Wageningen. Several different trails perfect for hiking, bird watching and dog walking.
The famous bird, Lepelaar, is often found in the lake during summer. Several other interesting birds to find here includes Bearded reedling, Pheasant, common cuckoo, Eurasian jay, Great crested grebe, Grey heron, Great egret and Great cormorant. Surpisingly, Bluethroat, can also be spotted here.
Other animals include Grass snake, Northern crested newt and beaver. Horses and cows are walking freely around, but keep your distance and don´t feed them..
The historical stone fabric, De Bovenste Polder, is also an attraction worth visiting in this area. Follow the Aan de Rijn until the road stops, and you´ll be there.Written May 13, 2019This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC.
