The Kissing Booth's Joel Courtney and wife Mia Scholink are married! The actor and his longtime love, who've known each other since they were toddlers, married in Phoenix, Arizona, in a small ceremony reduced at 50 percent capacity due to COVID-19 precautions. Still, the day was special and memorable according to the pair, as they unveiled their wedding images on September 30.

″I am just so thrilled to be married,″ Courtney, age 24, told People. ″It's one of those things where as much planning and as much anticipation goes into the day, I'm so excited to be married to my best friend."

The pair first started dating in 2017. They've known each other since they were babies. "My parents knew Mia's parents before either one of us were born," the actor added. "My dad did some web development work for her dad's business, and they met through church and by the time Mia and I were born, we hung out for three or four years running around in diapers and play dates -- not just us, but our siblings. There are multiple photos where all five of the Scholink kids and all four of the Courtney kids are sitting around a table eating sandwiches and we're all under the age of 14. It was so cool."

On Instagram, the new husband added a sweet message about his special day. "Love Honor and Cherish," he noted, while adding his wedding date of September 27, 2020.

The pair, who got engaged on Valentine's Day and have been dating since 2017, also had to deal with the blow of the impact of COVID-19 on their wedding day. Still, they proceeded with all precautionary and safety measures recommended in place.

″The venue was at 50 percent capacity so we already had a cap [on the guest list] and we socially-distanced everybody," the groom noted. "Masks were encouraged and worn, and temperatures were checked at the door. We left it up to our guests to decide their level of comfort, if they wanted to interact and talk to people, we asked that they just be wise/mindful, respect that some people might want to keep their distance and not interact.″

″It was sad not having some people there but during these times, it was totally understandable," the bride, 23, added to People. "It was so intimate, it was all close family and friends which kept it amazing, seeing everyone close to you together.″

Despite the setbacks with having all desired guests in the room, the couple proceeded with traditional wedding details. The bride wore a gown by Demetrios Bridal, which looked polished and beautiful against the groom's black wool Emporio Armani tuxedo.
