We eat at the cafe yak and yeti and sat outside the food was really nice. Highly recommend visiting this parkVisited May 2023Traveled with familyWritten June 8, 2023
- Dede KPittsburgh, Pennsylvania2,167 contributionsFor the outdoor lover!Animal Kingdom is a definite must for the outdoorsy person. The tree is the most amazing part of this park! Just like all other parks, it is the center piece! My kids loved Dinoland. There was a passport program going on when we were there. My fave? A Bug’s Life! Lots to see and fall in love with!Visited August 2022Traveled with familyWritten July 2, 2023
- Noukie X6 contributionsNot bad but not greatOne of the boring-er parks of Disney. Less rides and attractions compared to MK but cost nearly the same price. Pandora rides wait time can be very long but that's something that is out of their control as we went in the summer knowing that wait times are long. Otherwise, half of the park felt like an expensive zoo.Visited August 2022Traveled as a coupleWritten July 5, 2023
- LouiseK25 contributionsBeautiful parkThe parks theming is beautiful. Wasn’t expecting to enjoy myself but I had a wonderful time here. The park didn’t feel busy at all. There isn’t as many thrill rides but the rides we rode we had a a lot of fun. Avatar is absolutely amazing and breathtaking when riding. The theming in this area is amazing. The safari was really interesting and the tour guide was very knowledgeable. We foolishly only went at midday but wished we had spent the day here. We will definitely return to this parkVisited May 2023Traveled with familyWritten July 8, 2023
- Katie NZAuckland, New Zealand339 contributionsUnderrated park!Animal Kingdom is probably my favourite park. The theme is great, it almost doesn’t feel like a theme park. Genie+ isn’t really required for this park, though they sell Lightning Lane passes on the Disney app for Avatar Flight of Passage. This was worth it for our party, as it was our favourite ride of the day! Pandora alone is worth seeing, as the amount of detail used is fantastic (really good for photos). The Tree of Life is a great centre attraction of the park. There are a few eateries around which have a good range of choices. Pro: the theme of the park. There is lush foliage all over, with animal sightings along with rides. Con: it seems smaller than the other parks! You can get through everything is half a day (around six hours). They don’t have too many rides but the ones they have are enjoyable. Tip: come as early as possible! There is little wait time on a lot of rides. Take away: absolutely recommend.Visited June 2023Traveled with friendsWritten July 9, 2023
- Mili821Mumbai, India326 contributionsTotal surprise park!We had to choose between Epcot and Animal Kingdom due to days constraint. I am so glad we chose Animal Kingdom!! A total surprise package. After spending couple of days in universal and magic kingdom, we were totally exhausted with G force rides and crowd. And this park served the right purpose- fun filled day with amazing rides and decor which suited all age group. Each section is so unique and beautifully made, closest to actual places. Mount Everest ride, rapids etc kept the excitement going and Kilimanjaro ride, gorilla falls, maharaja trek etc slowed the pace and forced us to enjoy the breathtaking nature. Of course icing on the top was Avatar ride! What an experience it was. From signboards to food options (we got very good veg food) to water fountains, everything was just about right. For our last day in orlanda, this was perfect end as it was thrilling and soothing at same time. Highly recommended to visit this park.Visited June 2023Traveled with familyWritten July 10, 2023
- BillB34 contributionsGreat ServiceGreat park and easy to get around. The highlight of the visit was lunch at the Rain Forest Cafe. It was very busy and wait for food was long but our server Ashley was great and made the wait easier especially with having our young grandchildren. Food was also very good.Visited July 2023Traveled with familyWritten July 23, 2023
- arkangel67Lutterworth, United Kingdom252 contributionsExcellent, but starting to get very costly. Our third visit here, the first being nine years ago. Still love the chilled atmosphere at Animal Kingdom BUT there has been a big change to the way Disney appear to do business as opposed to when we were last here in 2017. Then, you could have up to three “live” Fast Passes which allowed you to dodge the longer queues. And they were free. Now, those appear to have been replaced by Lightning Lanes, where you can still dodge the queues but at a cost. We didn’t even explore the price, knowing it was unlikely to be cheap. The consequence of that is long waits, I’m afraid. We pushed over two hours queuing for the breathtaking Flight Of Passage. Other queues were around an hour. All of which meant we paid over 500 dollars for a family of four to experience just five rides. Stunning park, still one of our favourites. But difficult to argue that it represents value for money these days.Visited July 2023Traveled with familyWritten July 26, 2023

We stayed at the Animal Kingdom Lodge (Jumbo House) for 5days it was AMAZING!!! Each day we woke up looking out on the grounds where the animals dwelled. The views were impressive. We watched the sunrise and a couple of those days we watched the sunset amidst the animals. “Absolutely beautiful” We also brought our 10yrs old niece:) she has been to Disney, many times before… However, she kept saying how the resort was an amazing place to visit and that she did not want to leave!!! We all agreed! All of the children and us adults (children at heart) had a great time learning and exploring the many animals, excellent food, beautiful grounds, and the pool!!Visited July 2023Traveled with familyWritten July 29, 2023

I was really disappointed with our recent trip to Disney, especially Animal Kingdom. Supposedly, Disney is limiting the number of people into the Parks. I have to say our visit to Animal Kingdom on March 28 felt just as crowded as pre-COVID. It was very disorganized, not knowing where to find the end of lines for the rides. Not having the Fastpass system was awful. My family felt that we spent our entire trip (3 days MK,HS, AK) waiting in line; usually in the hot sun. A better system would be virtual ques (like for Rise of the Resistance) to keep the wait times down for the most popular rides. This led to constant complaints of tired feet from our daughter.
While I appreciated the 6 feet markings and the mask reminders that Disney has put in place, the lines in Pandora was a COVID hotbed. Once you wrap around the park and finally wind your way inside the lines are not separated on the horizontal. So although you are trying to stay 6 feet away from the group in front of you (and if you are lucky the people behind you comply) the group across from you is not 6 feet away, nor is there plexiglass to separate until further up. Suspiciously, there are no cast members in these high risk areas; which of course means there are always inconsiderate people with their noses out or masks around their chin.
Dining is also difficult. The online ordering pickup system is okay, but mainly fast food, and wait times and finding a table can be challenging. Therefore, I highly recommend dining reservations -well in advance- at the few restaurant that are available. Unfortunately, this means meals are going to be very expensive. The food we had was great but the options are limited on the menu and skew towards the high end. I highly recommend Tiffins and the Jungle Navigation Skipper Canteen. Excellent flavor and food.
Regarding the overall visit; it just lacked the magic of prior visits. I missed storm troopers walking past in Hollywood studios, Fireworks at night, seeing characters sing and dance. We were able to wave to Rey while she stood on top of a building in HS and see Mickey & Minnie on a boat while crossing a bridge in AK but the overall lack of random character sightings was disappointing as well.

This park was crowded in December but had enough space to allow us to move around most of the time. The safari ride is worth booking a fast pass for or get the little train up to Conservation Station for the petting zoo. My highlight - It's a Bug's Life film experience - best 3D show I have seen and educational too.

What a wild review of your day at Disney's Animal Kingdom Theme Park, Patricia!
Kilimanjaro Safaris is one of our most popular and iconic attractions at Animal Kingdom, and can definitely be a great use of a FastPass+ selection during our busier times of year.
I'm especially delighted to know your family visited the Affection Section, where you can pet and even brush goats, sheep, donkeys, cows and pigs - oh my! Rafiki's Planet Watch is the perfect place to make some new furry friends.
See you next time!

Visited Animal Kingdom today.
Been before several years ago....Disney, what has happened?
HUGE queues for the major rides, up to 3.5 hours in some cases. Totally not worth it for a few minutes actual ride time.
Most people glued to their phones trying to suss out or book fast passes which allow you 3 rides if you are lucky.
Way too many people allowed into the park, over crowded and hard to get around.
Food and merchandise is a complete rip off....example, $21 for a very small figure from Avatar and $30 for Mickey ears!
Food is below average, cold when you get it, plus they mucked up our order serving us meat & bacon in a burger when we had ordered plant based.
Cannot believe the entry fee is so high and then you cannot even get on all the rides.
Sadly we still have Disney Hollywood Studios to ENDURE!
Not a great start to our much saved up for and looked forward to holiday....after a few really tough years and lots of saving up & planning, Disney you have really ruined our expectations & we will never be coming back or recommending you, you are GREEDY beyond belief.
Be warned, stay away & spend your hard earned cash where you will actually get something in return for your money.

Thank you for stopping by to share your review of your recent visit to Disney’s Animal Kingdom Theme Park. I’m so sorry that even though your previous visits to our Parks were positively memorable, this visit fell extremely short of our high expectations and the Disney difference you’ve come to look forward to.
We’d like to discuss your experiences with you in further detail. When you have a moment, please be sure to check your Tripadvisor inbox for a private message from us.

I have been fortunate to have visited this park five times over the last 16 years and it's evolution is astounding. The latest addition "Pandora" from Avatar surpasses the level of detail you would expect from a Disney attraction. The floating mountains, bioluminescence effects, forced perspectives, Na'vi River and Flight of Passage are stunning creations. The Flight of Passage Fast Passes are difficult to get so plan ahead if you are staying for multiple days. We went on a magical hours morning (6 am) and there were at least 1000 people all funneled to Pandora. The wait was an hour that day. I was able to obtain a Fast Pass for our last day so we made a special trip to ride it again. Both experiences were phenomenal, however, when you go through the Fast Pass line you miss many of the details that are presented in stand by. The rest of the Park is still immaculate and shows no sign of aging and now with the late night hours it is definitely an all day experience.

Thanks so much for your rave review of Disney’s Animal Kingdom Theme Park! It seems you love this location as much as I do and I couldn’t help but smile as I read your thoughts. As I’m sure you’ve experienced during your visits, this is a location that is constantly changing and as such there is always something new to explore. Whether it’s visiting Pandora – The World of Avatar at different times of the day or going on an adventure at Kilimanjaro Safaris, I’m always seeing new things when I visit.
We look forward to hearing about your next adventures!

Many people have “An African Safari” on their life bucket list, but affording that nowadays is almost impossible for the average lay person. But, low and behold the Wonderful World of Disney in Orlando Florida puts you and your family right in the heart of Africa in every sense of the word. It is absolutely spectacular in the look, the feel, the African animals, and when you get into the safari vehicle ride get your cameras ready! We love Disney rides and the parks are always well maintained, as well as, extremely clean, but the way that the Walt Disney Company built the “Disney Animal Kingdom” is by far one of the greatest feats of modern day construction in themed parks in the entire world. Do not travel to Central Florida with your family (or even on a business trip) and miss out on this true African adventure that will leave you in awe. And, when you show folks the pictures you took while visiting there, people seeing them will ask, “how could you afford to take your family on an expensive African Safari with the high costs of travel and hotel accommodations theses days?” Your answer might be, “Africa is a lot closer than you think!”

We're so happy to know you enjoyed your visit to Disney's Animal Kingdom Theme Park, Gail!
"Africa is a lot closer than you think!" It is wonderful to know you were able to view so many of our animals during your visit!
I am especially delighted to know your family had a wild time exploring the Harambe Wildlife Reserve on Kilimanjaro Safaris, home to 34 species living in 110 acres of picturesque open plains, shady forest landscapes and rocky wetlands. Isn't it amazing to drive past a gentle giraffe grazing on the tall trees or wave hello to a swinging baboon? Since animals have minds of their own, every expedition is a unique and unforgettable experience! And you provided a great tip for other TripAdvisor users, be sure to keep your eyes open and have your camera ready!
If you haven't done so already, I would encourage you to check out the Gorilla Falls Exploration Trail during your next visit! This self-guided tour of the Pangani Forest allows Guests to experience amazing creatures, like gorillas and hippos, in their natural habitats - just be sure to visit this area early, as it does close around dusk each evening.
We hope your visit was one to remember - we'll see you next time!

I was warned!!! My friend said to reserve 3 items on a fast pass before you go. I was not sure which day we would go to the park so we did not reserve anything. We got there around 10 am A COLD DAY IN JAN. 50 degrees. There were only 3 shows to reserve and the flight of Passage to Pandora or whatever the name is had been reserved for 3 months. We could have stayed in line for 2 hours to ride it but, decided that was a waste of time. I spent $119 to walk around all day and all I got to see was the Lion King show and A Bug's Life 3-D show and that is it!!!!!! The ride for the Everest rollercoaster line was just under 2 hours and it was not available for fast pass. This is totally a rip-off and unfair. I will not ever return to any of the parks. Walt would be sad it has come down to this. Thank goodness we did not have any children with us. They would have been so disappointed.

Thank you for taking a moment to share an overview of your day at our Park. We want each visit here to be filled with excitement and adventure thanks to our immersive attractions and breathtaking shows, and I apologize your visit was anything short of this. I understand how the longer wait times for some of our attractions can slow down your fun overall.
On your next visit, like your friend, I encourage you to make FastPass+ selections for an even better experience. You may also be interested to know you can modify your selections at any time. So if your plans change in terms of which Park you’re visiting on which day, you’re able to adjust your FastPass+ selections accordingly.
I hope this helps, and I hope we get to welcome you back for an even more memorable visit in the future.

We did a special event closed to the public from 9pm to midnight! Lighting in the park made it difficult to find where you were going but totally understand it is meant to be that way for the safari animals. We arrived around 6:00 and lined up for the Kilimanjaro Safari tour. The wait time was listed as 50 minutes but ended up being 75 minutes due to the fast pass line being ridiculous and very few people in the regular line being allowed to get on the vehicles (we counted at least two full fast pass vehicles being loaded to less than one regular...not cool!) repeatedly.....Food was good and several different options were available at counter service restaurants. Staff were very pleasant and attentive. Flight of the Avatar was amazing as were the grounds in that section at night...beautiful scenery and lighting.

Mary, it sounds like your family had a wild time! Our special events, such as Disney After Hours, are such a cool way to make sure you get to experience each attraction on your to-do list. That said, I do apologize for any frustrations regarding our wait times, and appreciate your feedback. I’m happy to know this didn’t put much of a damper on your evening.
Thanks for joining us for an adventure. We hope to see you on safari again soon.

Wow! What an incredible day we had at Animal Kingdom! Our friend had visited a few years prior and had a terrible experience due to a lot of construction taking place. She said it had been overcrowded and there simply were not enough open attractions to make it last longer than half a day.
Our experience could not have been more different! We spent a day and half having an absolutely amazing time at Animal Kingdom. There were so many animal trails, walkthroughs, and ways to spend your time exploring the park that you dont feel like you are ever missing out even if you run out of time to do one of the main attractions. Luckily we got to do all the big thrills and attractions, some more than others. We must have ridden Expedition Everest 5 times in the day and a half we were there!
I loved Rafiki's Nature watch. We got to see one of the vets doing a check up on small very small birds of paradise. Animal Kingdom feels like a theme park as much as the others in Disney, but with the fascinating bonus of offering real insight to animal conservation.
The only disappointment was not seeing any Lions on the safari.
We dined at Yak + Yeti which was absolutely delicious food although I highly recommend booking in advance because we saw people being told there would be upto a 2 hour wait!
Pandora the World of Avatar is on another level! It is absolutely terrific and Flight of Passage is simply the most incredible ride experience I have ever ridden! I've written a separate review about it!
We didnt see Rivers of Light because the crowds for the rides were substantially lower during the show and we jumped on a couple of them again!
The best thing about Animal Kingdom and the thing we loved most was the walking tours, the Gorilla trail, the tiger trail, and just generally being in the park. We had some warm days so it was lovely soaking up the sun, trees swaying in the breeze with macaw parrots flying over head! Magic!

I can tell you got to see and do it all while at Disney's Animal Kingdom Theme Park! Thanks for sharing your adventure with us. I love that you spent so much time looking for the yeti on Expedition Everest as it's one of my favorite rides. I just love posing in the pictures as we take off down the hill. It's always a rush!
Thanks for the great tip on booking a dining reservation at Yak & Yeti. It is definitely a pretty popular dining location, so reservations are always suggested to maximize time. Not to mention it is absolutely delicious! If you don't snag a dining reservation though, there are plenty of fantastic spots to try out. Next time, be sure to pop into the Satul'i Canteen. They have fantastic fare where you can build many of your own meals the way you want. So until then, sivako!

We love this park, but this time didn’t figure out that you can get fast passes in advance until they were already all gone. We waited in one two-hour line for Avatar (not worth it) and by the time we were done with that the Safari line was three hours long. We skipped it. Bummer. The Nemo show and Lion King were wonderful and my husband managed to weather the lines to get on the Everest ride. But we eventually ditched the crowds and sat and had a cocktail. Disney needs to figure out how to make it fair to those who didn’t plan their fast passes 60 days in advance. I say go back to no fast passes. And have “no stroller” days!!

The entire experience was a colossal failure on the part of Disney. Disney World has the worst customer service of any business I have encountered. We were a party of 8 that required family members to link on the Disney Experience app. Parks had to be selected in advance and reservations made for the selected park for each day. The app is NOT user friendly. We were unable to link all family members which is required for the Genie pass and Lightening Lanes. Both promoted as ticket upgrades, both wastes of time and money. When my attempts to link family failed, I sent an email that was responded to 12 days after being sent (and after the trip). I attempted the online chat, only to receive a notification that the chat was unavailable. Ultimately, I spent over 5 hours on the phone, 4 of which were on hold, just to link family members on the "Disney Experience" app. Bought Disney Genie which was a waste of $ ($15 per person per day). Bought Lightening Lane ($10 per person for 1 ride) and still had to wait over 45 minutes for a ride. Other ride waits averaged 2 hours. Disney requires food purchases be made on the app. Ever try ordering food for 8 people using 1 cell phone? Parks were over-crowded. Everyone was so preoccupied with the Disney app on their phones that it was impossible to be in the moment. Genie did not offer "reservations" for all rides and ended hours before the park closed. Over the years our family has been to Disney World at least 20 times, I can say with confidence that we will not return to Disney again. The overall impression we left with is that Disney has no regard for its guests, their time, and their experience. Disney World has always been a revenue generating machine, but in the past customer satisfaction and customer service were taken into consideration. Now, Disney doesn't even pretend to care about its guests. Take your family elsewhere, you will save time and money; and you may also have fun at a place that cares about its guests.

Hola.

Does Pandora still have that place in the gift shop where they can make the Avatar dolls that look like you? We’re headed there soon. Thanks.

They didn't let us really hang around in the gift show in the COVID conditions in May. The relaxation of rules started a few weeks after that. We did build druids at Star Wars, but that was by appointment only.
What is best time to visit this park to see animals out & about?

We went on the first ride and the last one, It provides some variety so you could see more animals.

Considering price of the ticket is it worth going for someone who is pregnant and can’t go on a lot of rides? Thank you for answering

I would say so if you enjoy fantastic theming and immersive lands that feels like you are really looking at architecture and other environmental features from the representative regions but with a Disney flavor. There are a few rides that you may be able to enjoy such as Navii river journey. There are hidden walking trails and if you can take the time to sit down and take it all in, there are little spots around the park that are quite inviting. Once its dark, Pandora really comes to life! If shows are available, there is an incredible bird show with live flying birds, and Nemo was a fantastic show with dedicated performers with some musical numbers included that are not in the movie (plus climate control! And sitting!). The safari is a little jostling, nothing crazy, but use discretion there.
Its a fair bit of walking to see it all, but it can be broken into manageable chunks.
