Is there any other place on the planet where a six year old is charged as an adult! We visited on a charity day recently, taking our two grand-daughters (aged 6 and 8) as their parents were working. Apparently the Royal Estates consider anyone over 5 as an adult! I suggest a review of your pricing policy is necessary.

We came here on the day the National Garden Scheme (NGS) hosted a day at Frogmore Gardens when all the ticket income goes to charity. Ordinarily visits can only be arranged in advance for groups of 15 or more. Our ticket said House and Garden, but the House was not included and a separate ticket had to be purchased. The gardens are well worth a visit with the remarkable Frogmore Memorial where Queen Victoria and Prince Albert are buried.

On arriving at the road leading to Frogmore House the tour operator and the coach driver both had to show their passports (they had previously had to fill out a certain papers) Met by two armed policemen - once through the barriers we proceeded for a very informative trip around the house and grounds but the poor driver had to stay with the coach the whole time.

We went after the wedding of Harry and Megan, it was so beautiful made even more special as we had a glorious day and were able to sit on the grass soaking up the sunshine.
The cakes available were lovely, I really enjoyed my time there.

As we were on an August timed group visit we did not experience any queues as those on the open days did. We were met and greeted by staff who split us up into smaller groups as some of the rooms inside were small. That was good for us too as we were able to see and hear everything. Our guide was originally from Russia but his knowledge of British history and that of the house was fantastic. We got a real feel for the older and modern day history of Frogmore House. We were lucky to be there on a sunny day with a heron resting at the edge of the lake. The plane noise though must disturb anyone living on the estate as they are a fairly constant roar overhead.

Was lucky enough to go on a private group evening tour. We were divided into groups of 12, which was ideal. Our guide was very pleasant and knowledgeable, without overload. The rooms were beautiful and fascinating.
This was followed by a walk around the grounds and then champagne on the lawn - perfect on a lovely summer evening.
The house is only open on a very few days, plus pre-arranged groups in August, so check before planning to go.

HRH Prince Philip, Duke of Edinburgh is to be buried on the grounds of Frogmore. Can the public access the graves in the garden?

We are going to visit Frogmore Gardens next Wednesday. We’ve been to Windsor once before and saw how busy the town gets. Are there any restrictions on which way you have to drive into Park Street for the Long Walk car park? We will be approaching from the B3022 ( Kings Road and then Sheet Street) and turning right into St Albans Street and then onto Park Street. We are hoping to get there for 10am as soon as they drop the barriers to Long Walk.
Also where do they sell the tickets for the house? It says the ticket tent adjacent to the cafe marquee but doesn’t say where they are located in relation to the house.

Frogmore’s August 2019 tours are only open to groups. There are just three of us traveling. Is there a way to join a group?

Even though it will be closed to visitors can you view the exterior from Frogmore Drive outside or is it not worth it? Can you access Frogmore Drive from by the castle Shop or can you only access from the castle end?
Thanks

Thank-you and my apologies for not answering sooner, would recommend that you look on the Windsor Castle web site, find out when it is open - normally around Easter - but well worth a visit.
Is the home Harry and his wife r going to live. if so dose this will be no longer used for tours??
Is this the home Harry and Meghan will live ?? If so then people will not be allowed to book their anymore ?? Is that correct??

No they will move into Frogmore Cottage, which is within the Frogmore estate. We saw the “Private” sign on the gate leading to the hidden Cottage.
The problem is that the security they will be provided, may interfere with the opening of Frogmore House, as you can imagine. Keep watching!

Thank you

I think the charities are different every year and the dates for the charity dates are not published on the website until at least March. I was checking the website every day from March. After the dates are published, it was another few weeks until the booking links became available.

If you take a picnic to the grounds of Frogmore - are there any benches?
beccyw146
Berkshire, UK55 contributions
I don't believe there are picnic benches in the grounds, no. You also have to go through security and large bags must be checked in to a cloakroom before entering the house. Picnics are allowed on the charity open days in June but I'm not sure on other open days. Best check directly with The Royal Collection.

We will be on a cruise in July that will dock in Greenwich, England. Are there any organized tours from the port to Frogmore House? Would truly want to visit the mausoleum where Victoria and Albert are buried. It looked like it was about 70 miles from Greenwich. We only have one day in port. Many thanks!

Mausoleum is under renovation at present. It is hoped it will open on the charity days in future but for present is it closed. The mausoleum of the Duchess of Kent (Queen Victoria's mother) is never open. Windsor is about 23 miles from central London
