Overall my experience at Chapel Hill High was agreeable. It has a plethora of students from unique backgrounds which is very eye-opening and provides a safe space for young teenagers. The teachers are very kind and most of them provide students with their individual needs. There are also a lot of AP classes to choose from and unique programs such as firefighting. Unfortunately, it is also very competitive and can provide a lot of academic pressure. As someone who struggles with academics due to my disability and some very bad periods in my mental health, the school did not help in relieving that pressure. I've experienced multiple periods of burnout due to my classes, but that might not be the case for everyone.
I have really enjoyed my time at Chapel Hill. A lot of the teachers are really good and a handful of them seem to really care about what they are doing. The facilities are amazing and there are resources for everyone here, with the arts and CTE department being a great option for everyone. The only setback is that some teachers do not really seem to care and just give busy work, as well as very low standards with the district grading policy. There is a 50 floor and a bad retake policy. There is also a lot of academic competition in the school community, which can be really harmful to students.
I have undergone lots of change in Chapel Hill High, including new principles, teachers and staff. I believe CHHS has a lot of resources, yet is not always the best at advertising the resources it has.
Amazing school! So many fantastic opportunities at CHHS. The history and science departments are great. The math department is more hit/miss.
As a senior from CHHS, the school overall has been great and it provides us with the resources we need to achieve success in our studies. I do wish to see some changes in our lunch period since i feel like we don't have enough time - especially for the seniors who go out to eat - to properly eat our meals. I am happy that we recently got a flex period that provides us with time to make up any missing work/tests. Overall its a good school with good academics and good sport teams.
It is okay. There are sometimes fights, and there are better schools, but it's very big and has a lot of opportunity. The environment is kind of stressful as a lot of people strive to get as many honors/AP courses as possible, and join as many clubs as possible, etc. It can be overwhelming, but also there are over 100 clubs you can join and tons of opportunities for specialized classes/AP's.
The academics at Chapel Hill High School are very rigorous and competitive. This is a good thing, but also can get very stressful for students. Students often compare grades and sometimes bullying happens due to grades. Chapel Hill also has a great athletic program.
Chapel Hill was a challenging and engaging school with positive and encouraging teachers and students!
Great academic opportunities, huge choice of courses, unique choice of courses in biomedical and medical sciences, broad clubs offerings
My overall experience at Chapel Hill High was amazing. I miss going to class every day or going into my teachers class during lunch and talking to them about the class assignments or homework’s that would be due each day .
The staff is all typically very kind and very passionate about their jobs. For most of the teachers you can tell that they really do enjoy teaching. The other students tend to be at least respectful as well, I can't say I've personally had too many issues with others but that's just my personal experience.
Chapel Hill is one of the best schools in the state! Any student can find their place in the wide variety of options, whether it be sports, academic clubs, or more. 9/10 would recommend.
Extremely amicable environment. There is so much school spirit and students are genuinely enthusiastic to participate in most school related events. A unique and fun environment where learning is safe and comfortable.
Chapel Hill High School is committed to providing equal opportunities for every student. This is done through hundreds of extracurricular clubs, sporting events, school programs and traditions. The spirit of Chapel Hill is as strong and brave as our mascot, the tiger. We stand together and support each other through success and through failure. While a large part of school spirit is the celebration after a win, the critical moments where the true character shines through is after a set back and the student body rallies and supports those who have lost. Chapel Hill High School deserves this excellent rating because of how well it looks after, includes and provides for every student.
It is a great school! The building is brand new and it is very spacious. The cross country team is excellent!
All of the teachers are very helpful and care about the wellbeing of the students and their success in the classroom. The classes are challenging and put an emphasis on fully understanding the material and growing as a scholar. The whole staff does a fantastic job of preparing their students for their futures. The principle is involved and interacts with students and classrooms throughout the day. Also, the school offers a wide variety of clubs and organizations that students can participate in. The sports teams are really good, and the administration is very involved in the athletic events.
Great school with great teachers! The new building is very appealing. Has a very good community, from administration down to students. Offers plenty of classes in many aspects.
