Per 5 mL
Dextromethorphan HBr 10 mg, chlorpheniramine maleate 1 mg
Indications/Uses
Cough in cold, flu, TB, bronchitis, bronchial asthma, pertussis, measles, pneumonia, excessive smoking, psychogenic cough.
Dosage/Direction for Use
Adult
1-2 tsp.
Childn ≥6 yr
½-1 tsp. To be taken tds-qds.
Administration
May be taken with or without food.
Contraindications
Asthma; MAOI therapy, lower resp tract disease; newborn or premature infant; coronary thrombosis; HTN, hyperthyroidism; closed-angle glaucoma; lactation.
Special Precautions
Impaired renal function; cardiac disease; diabetes; thyrotoxicosis; may impair ability to drive or operate machinery. Childn <6 yr.
Adverse Reactions
GI disturbances; drowsiness, dizziness, excitation; resp depression; dry mouth, tachycardia, urinary retention; erythematous nummular patches.
