CT Health Council names first director

Submitted photo Amy Hewitt Cunningham

A growing network of Connecticut healthcare leaders created and supported by the MetroHartford Alliance has found its first executive director.

The Connecticut Health Council appointed Amy Hewitt Cunningham, a former director of enrollment management and marketing at Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute’s Hartford campus, to lead the organization.

The council said its purpose is to promote Connecticut as a center of health excellence and help develop businesses and initiatives to enhance health care. It lists approximately 80 members on its website, including universities, biotech companies, health systems and others.

Cunningham, who is also an executive officer on the Connecticut ACE Women’s network, previously worked as a pharmaceutical sales specialist at AstraZeneca for 13 years.
