St. Andrew’s College is an independent, interdenominational, coeducational, junior and secondary school, founded in 1894, which offers an educational program from kindergarten through grade 12 for students of all nationalities. Situated on a 12.72-acre (15.15 hectares) site in Booterstown, County Dublin, the school year comprises three terms, extending approximately from late August to early June.

Organization: St. Andrew’s College is a limited liability company called St. Andrew’s College Dublin, CLG, which is operated by an eight-member board of governors. The members of this board appoint the headmistress, who is the chief executive of the college. She is advised by the board of St. Andrew’s College Management Co. DAC, a wholly owned subsidiary company of SACD, whose 10 members include representatives of the Presbyterian Church, parents, teachers and five members of the Board of Governors. Board members are elected to serve for periods of two years. The headmistress is an ex-officio member of the Board of Management. The college is recognized by the Department of Education and Skills of the Republic of Ireland.

Curriculum: The curriculum is designed to provide a liberal, balanced, and comprehensive education. A program comprising 30 academic subjects and a wide variety of sports and recreational activities is offered. The majority of students take courses leading to the Irish Junior and Leaving Certificate examinations, while others follow the International Baccalaureate Program. Special needs and EAL classes are also provided. The Transition Year Program (grade 10) offers a multifaceted course of study intended to help students choose the most suitable subjects for the Leaving Certificate. The school is fully accredited by the New England Association of Schools and Colleges and the Council of International Schools.

Faculty: In the 2023-2024 school year, St. Andrew’s has 174 total staff including 156 teachers, 3 of whom are U.S. citizens, 151 host-country nationals, and 21 third-country nationals. Our faculty and staff represent 10 different nationalities. All teaching faculty maintain a teaching certificate/credential e.g. Teaching Council.

Enrollment: At the beginning of the 2023-2024 school year, enrollment was 1,272. Of the total, 59 were U.S. citizens, 1,044 were host-country nationals and 169 were third-country nationals.

Facilities: The school building and grounds are owned by the college. Facilities include 85 classrooms, 22 tutorial rooms, six laboratories, six art rooms, two home economics rooms, two design and communication graphics rooms, two libraries, 19 resource rooms, two assembly halls, a large dining hall, a modern sports hall, a fitness center, a full-size rugby pitch, two full-size astro-pitches and an administration center. The school has parking for approximately 120 cars.

Finances: For the 2023-2024 school year, about 92.5% of the college’s income derives from school tuition and state-funded registration fees. Annual tuition fees converted to US$1 at a rate of US$ 1.08:€1 are as follows; Junior School: $11,016; Secondary Department: $8,748; International Baccalaureate: $11,556.
