Allen High School Reviews

Allen high school was a great experience for me and my family, and an even better decision for the long run. Allen allows everyone an equal opportunity to succeed throughout their high-school experience. It's facilities and faculty allow for a healthy and professional environment for the students that attend every day class. Though Allen is a nearly perfect school in all aspects the only prospect it lacks is a variable schedule. Many schools in Texas are implementing a later start time and release time for all students. This decision was implemented so that students can enjoy more time to sleep if they so happen to have homework that runs into the night. Only research shows that this change in schedule has produced a positive impact on tardiness and how attentive students are during a lesson. I personally recommend this decision to Allen high school because I struggled with a poor sleep schedule during most of my school year and it affected my education dearly.
For someone who transferred to Allen from another district I have found it to be a very positive experience. For such a large school it has many resources to current high school students and upcoming college students. Theres dual credit and AP options, vocational options, and many other career orientented clubs and classes. The food is very good as they have the culinary students working on it together to create menus and food items for the students. There are many security measures in place to keep the place safe and secure, especially considering how large the population of students in the school is. Some changes I would like to see implemented is a change in security. Many of the security officers are rude and unprofessional which hinders the comfort from the students on who is protecting them. Overall I have had a very positive experience at Allen High School and have found it to be extremely rewarding.
Allen High School is one of the biggest high schools of Texas. I've enjoyed my time at this school despite its downs such as the constant nonsense fights and some racism, both have been dealt with thoroughly with the school's staff, the school's inner community is very exciting and engaging while it may be a bit on the wild side. The extracurricular activities are great and me personally being in the band at this high school, it really has made it more fun and made me feel more connected. As a current Junior and future senior, I will be glad that I had even been in the Allen Independent School District and had the opportunity to go to this amazing school. What I'd love to see change is the school adding more courses and extracurricular clubs and what not in the future, even if I'll never be able to experience those once I graduate.
