Two BIG problems with this set:
-Despite the word "Soul" in the title, this set largely eschews some of Roy's more Soul or R&B flavoured recordings in favour of Middle-Of-The-Road/Easy Listening. (Where is the Northern Soul favourite "Earthquake"?)
-The RCA and AGP label tracks are sourced from the bad vinyl dubs used for the set Tore Up: The RCA and AGP Singles. For either label to just use scratchy beat-up vinyl dubs as sources when the master tapes exist and sound wonderful is inexcusable.
In the compiler's favour, they did include the obscure but great "My Peaceful Forest", recorded for producer Bill Haney but unreleased at the time.
