How to Recreate Sofia Richie's Wedding Makeup

Ready to glow like Sofia Richie? Here's exactly how to recreate the viral dewy look we saw on her wedding day in the South of France.

Start With Your Skin

You've probably noticed that Sofia Richie's makeup looks are always skin-focused. Rather than opt for dramatic, high-glam styles, she tends to lean into fresh, minimalistic and glowy products—so if you're hoping to emulate a similar look, it's important to curate a prewedding skincare routine that works for you, and stay consistent.

"Your skin is the ultimate palette for your makeup, so your skincare routine is just as important as the makeup you apply on top of it," says Rachel Liverman, CEO and founder of skincare and facial brand Glowbar. "Just like a painting, your skin is the canvas, and having it be smooth and hydrated will allow makeup application to be a breeze. In order to achieve a glowy, dewy look like Sofia's, you'll want to ensure your skin is extra hydrated before applying makeup."

Begin With a Glowy Base

Sofia Richie's wedding makeup begins with a lightweight base, so consider using a tinted moisturizer, a BB or CC cream, or a radiant primer underneath your favorite foundation. "When I was speaking with Pati about what I wanted for my wedding makeup, I really just wanted something timeless, nothing too heavy," Richie explained in her TikTok video. "Obviously, covering up any blemishes, but just keeping it super simple and skin. Elegant and pretty were the words I used."

Add Dimension with Bronzer

Next, Richie added dimension to her face with a light bronzer. "Pati and I actually used Nudestix," Richie explained in her video. It was an extra-special choice for the bride, as she currently serves as the brand's first-ever Beauty Director.

Color Your Cheeks with Blush

One of the defining elements of Sofia Richie's makeup on her wedding day was her rosy pink cheeks, which she accomplished with another Nudestix product. "This is when Patti whipped out Picante," Richie said of the brand's coral-toned cream blush stick. "She's like, 'I love this tone.' And I was like, 'Oh!' But now it's my staple. I'm obsessed with Picante. I never would have thought to use an orangey tone like that, but she introduced me to it and I'm obsessed."

Enhance Your Glow with Highlighter

Of course, this look isn't complete without highlighter. Richie dabbed a shimmering Chanel cream stick on the high points of her face and underneath her browbones to enhance her glow.

Create a Neutral Look on Your Eyelids

Next, it was time for eyes. "So, I'm not sure if this is the exact palette we used, but I love this palette. It's called Les 4 Ombres," Richie said of the Chanel product she used to add a bronzey hue to her eyes. "What I like about this palette is it's not too pigmented, it's like, a sheer little shimmer. It's just really pretty and subtle." She began with a sheer layer of gold shimmer on the base of her lid and added depth with a light brown shade through her crease.

Set Your Base with Powder

It's rare that a wedding MUA won't complete your look with powder, as this essential step locks in your makeup and prolongs its wear time. "One of my big, big concerns, especially with especially being in the South of France, and it being a bit humid and hot, was that my T-zone naturally gets really oily," Richie explained. "So, we didn't do a bake, but we definitely generously powdered my T-zone just to make sure that after my seven-and-a-half-minute walk down the aisle, I wouldn't be dripping sweat or oily."

Fill in Your Eyebrows

Lionel Richie got some love in the next step of this tutorial when Richie filled in her eyebrows with a neutral pencil. "Shoutout to my dad, him and I have little bald corners of our eyebrows. Just a genetic thing, you know," she said with a laugh. "That's another thing I really learned about my face through this process. I actually really enjoy a little extension on the end [of my eyebrows]. Then I just gel these puppies up so they don't move."

Coat Your Lashes With Mascara

Here's the pièce de résistance of Sofia Richie's wedding makeup look: the mascara she used was literally $10. "So, one of the only requests I think I actually had for Pati was to bring this Maybelline mascara," she said, holding up the brand's waterproof Lash Sensational tube. "Other than that, I was like, I trust you with my life."

Finish with a Pink Lip

To complement the pink tones on her cheeks, Richie completed her bridal makeup look with a pretty pink lip. "Last but not least, I know all you guys saw this lip combo," Richie shared. "Pati introduced me to this color, and it is my new saving grace. I literally went to the Chanel store two days after I got home from my wedding and bought as many as I could find."

She continued, "For the signature lip, this is my bestie: this is 928 Pink Delight Rouge Cocoa Baume. Pati, you are a genius for this. This is the most beautiful color. I had this in my pocket, like, stuffed in my actual dress after the ceremony, and I was applying it all night."

How to Ask for Sofia Richie's Wedding Makeup Look

When the time comes for your own wedding makeup trial, it's important to come prepared with photos and ideas of what you're envisioning for your big day. If Sofia Richie's wedding makeup look is what you're after, there are a few ways to ensure your stylist nails your idea. First, bring photos of the look to show exactly what you want. Be sure to use key buzzwords like "fresh," "glowy," "dewy," and "timeless."

And, of course, remember that there are so many ways to enhance your skin's natural glow outside of the beauty chair. "It's important to approach your skin both from the inside and the outside," Liverman explains. "I always encourage clients to drink one-third of their body weight in water ounces daily, especially in the weeks leading up to their wedding." She also notes that investing in targeted treatments (such as facials) can help you achieve your dream look with the help of a professional. "If you want clear and radiant skin year-round, especially before the big day, getting expert facials monthly is critical for consistent maintenance."

Perhaps the most essential tip to remember, though, is that your perfect wedding makeup look isn't about the products used, but rather, your natural glow from within. "Sofia's glam wasn't just because of her skin and makeup. She was beaming with joy, calm and peace at where she is in life," Liverman muses. "Being genuinely happy and authentically yourself is truly the best way to glow on your wedding day."
