Professor Bruce G. Robinson
Professor Bruce Robinson is an Endocrinologist at Royal North Shore Hospital. He trained at Sydney Hospital, the Royal Alexandra Hospital for Children and Royal North Shore Hospital before undertaking doctoral studies at Harvard Medical School from 1986-1989. He returned to Australia to establish the Cancer Genetics Laboratory within the Kolling Institute of Medical Research and has had a career involving basic and clinical research as well as clinical practice.
His work has helped understand the molecular basis for endocrine tumour formation and has led to the development of clinical trials for patients with endocrine cancer.
From 2006 to 2016 Professor Bruce Robinson was Dean of the Faculty of Medicine at the University of Sydney and since then was Chair of the Medical Benefits Schedule Review Taskforce from 2016 to 2021 and also Chair of the NH&MRC from 2015 to mid 2021. He now holds a number of non executive Director roles on both listed and unlisted companies in Australia. Professor Robinson was made a Companion of the Order of Australia in 2020 for services to medical research, medical education and medicine.
