Dear PreK-12 Parents,

At DCS, we strive to be a Christian school that partners with families to help create foundational beliefs that will stand the test of time. We prioritize Christ first while striving to continuously improve as an institute of academic excellence.

We would not be able to provide successful citizens for God's Kingdom without our amazing faculty and staff. We hear time and time again that the experience that most stands out to our students and parents is that at DCS people sincerely care about each soul that enters.

Our focus scripture this year is Matthew 6:33. We will seek the Kingdom first. Before any accolades, awards, or notoriety, we want to grow closer to God and expand His Kingdom. We know all other things will be taken care of by Him.

Through your attending Dayton Christian I found the many, not all, but many of the teachers to be extremely strict about teaching their own beliefs rather than teaching students to form opinions for themselves amount topics. Not only that but there is not a a lot of diversity, whether that includes race, socioeconomic status, or sexuality, everyone had seemed like the same person. Although they did have a good art and music program as well as sports program besides the fact that the boys received newer equipment, uniforms, and fields verse the girls teams.

Many individuals appreciate the emphasis on values, character development, and a sense of community in Christian schools. The spiritual component can be a positive aspect for those seeking a faith-based education. However, opinions may vary based on personal beliefs, and some might find the religious focus restrictive. Changes desired could involve adapting curricula to be more inclusive or offering a broader range of extracurricular activities. It ultimately depends on individual preferences and priorities.

One of the best aspects of this private school was the idea that we could all worship, pray, and display our faith without reprimands. But at the same time, they accepted those who don’t share the same belief system as themselves. One thing I didn’t enjoy was how littler resources they gave us when it came to preparing for college and deciding a major. I really got no experience into real world occupations which made it extremely hard to make a decision. This led to me being unsure and ultimately switching my major a year and a half into college simply because I didn’t have the chance to explore.
