A country orphanage puts on a show with some musicians to save their 4H club from being shut down by greedy politicians.
1940 Directed by Frank McDonald
A country orphanage puts on a show with some musicians to save their 4H club from being shut down by greedy politicians.
Farm musical for those wanting some spirited time wasting. Stars Mary Lee, with good or interesting musical input from Carl 'Alfalfa' Switzer and the Cackle Sister. Mostly nonsense without purpose for easy laughs.
Proto save-the-rec-center musical comedy from Republic with Mary Lee and her pals attempting to put on a show at their farm/orphanage. Delightful numbers by the kids and goofiness by the adults help a predictable storyline from becoming stale. Mary Lee and The Cackle Sisters are particularly enjoyable.
“Babes in Arms on a Budget” this harmless Poverty Row confection is more entertaining than I would fade ever given it credit for initially. It doesn’t even try to hard to distinguish itself from its MGM counterparts but somehow that adds to the charm.
