Nice hockey arena.

Nice hockey arena. The level of play was far lower than I expected, though. I would have thought DEL teams would have been more skilled. It was nice to see a goalie fight. Those do not happen very often.

The Lanxess Arena is a great venue with lovely staff. HOWEVER, expect long queues for toilets throughout the night (doesn't seem to be enough) and pricey drinks; 4.50 Euro for a 0.5L bottle of water/coke... which is poured into a cup for you, and you end up with less than the bottle. 5 Euro for a cup of beer.
Getting into the arena was easy and VERY well organised. Security are quick and thorough.

Went to watch Cologne Vs Dusseldorf Ice Hockey match. The arena was easy to get around, there were many different food and drink coincessions and the match had a fantastic atmosphere,

A nice stadium to match a sporting event. I came here with some friends to watch Koln Haie play the Iserlohn Roosters. As we had front row seats, were right on top of the action. The only downside was that it was impossible to see the puck when the play was up close. Other than that, the stadium was easy to navigate and easy to get to from the metro, although the stadium is really only 25 minutes walk to the old town.

Visited the Lanxess Arena for a Maroon 5 concert which was very good, arena itself is easy enough to get too. Can walk from Cologne Central station in around 20-25 minutes or there is plenty of transport options which stop at Bf Deutz / Messe / LANXESS arena a 5 minutes walk away. Only real negative I would say is €4.50 for a cup of water is absolutely ridiculous and shouldn't be allowed but what can we do!

Amazing Arena. I was there for a concert of Maroon5. Toilets very good positioned, clean. Position of the field close for viewers on a lot of points on arena.
For a Vip area, i was expecting a little bit more control. Or at least a little bit different from the rest of the field. Actually anyone could reach the area, even without ticket for the specific area. Was Vip only because of position and nothing else.
Per total an enjoyable experience. The show of Maroon5 made every other detail be gone.

Could be such a great experience, but :(

The Lanxess Arena is certainly a striking colossus on the skyline across the Rhein from Cologne. Sadly, the small irritations start piling up and make the overall Lanxess experience strikingly bad. Long lines wrap around the building, with nearly no controls to prevent line jumpers. After entering the arena, you will be funneled to a seat that has seen better days, and will now give its utmost to convince you to stand through the entire event. And what could be more fitting than to be surrounded by chain smokers who feel that 'no smoking' rules are for little people. At lest take a soft seat cushion with you.
