We did a two-week bus tour from Washington DC to New York, and lots of places in between. Gettysburg was my favorite of all the places, and we visited some amazing places. We had a step-on bus guide that shared incredible knowledge while being entertaining at the same time.

The museum itself is amazing. So many unique and special articles, not just from the American Civil War, but from other periods of American history. Erik Dorr was not at the museum like I was hoping. He must be a fascinating person to have a discussion with. There were 2 employees present. One was very nice; the other was rude. Still, I am giving my visit an excellent rating because the one rude employee can't diminish how amazing this museum is. I highly recommend it. Give yourself at least one hour if you want to see everything.

A bright, hot, and sleepy day. We were unable to tour the house, because of the busy nature of the weekend, but it was interesting to see the grounds of the place that Eisenhower most loved. I thought the secret service rooms and the cars most interesting. Each area of the estate has historic facts. As a peace-time President, there is more focus on his role as a General. This is worth one visit, but maybe not more. I am curious what's inside the house.

My husband and I went for a tour with the national parks service to learn more about and understand the cemetery, its purpose. When you visit Gettysburg you begin to understand the magnitude of the battle, the amount of death both during the three days of fight, but also in the aftermath, and the responsibilities to honor the dead. It is also important to note that while this cemetery now memorials all Civil War Soldiers, it was a Union cemetery, and in honor of their patriotism, loyalty, and fight for ultimate freedom. After our tour we were able to see one of the hundred nights of taps which generally features a renowned musician and artist.

My husband and I took the four hour private tour with
    LBG John Fitzpatrick.
It was an amazing tour and the four hours passed very quickly. John was extremely knowledgeable and friendly. His knowledge of Gettysburg and the battle was astounding. I can't say enough how much we learned and how much we enjoyed touring with him.
John also pointed out several places to should go and things we should see and do. The visitor centers film and cyclorama were impressive and the evening cemetary tour is not to be missed. We would highly recommend doing the private tour. Thanks John for the memorable trip.

Informative and interesting, this little home / museum helped paint the picture of life in Gettysburg during the war. Our guide did a great job of pulling us into the Wade family's story

This was a favorite Gettysburg experience and a moment to get away from the activity. Just seeing the bridge takes you back to another time. At most, you'll spend about 30 minutes there but walking through the bridge just gives you perspective on a different time. The area looks like a favorite fishing spot for locals or just take in the fresh are, greenery and appreciate the lack of business. There are a few historic signs where you can learn about the bridge and it's meaning to the surrounding community.

This was the first time I visited the museum and got to go up in the cupola. It definitely won’t be the last time. The museum was very good. The tour of the cupola was breathtaking. The history shared with us by our guide was nothing I had ever heard before. The views were perfect. It was a little cold but I would’ve stayed up there for hours if I could. This is a great stop if you want to get a birds eye view of how the battle started.

The Tavern at the Dobbin house is one of my must eat places when I visit Gettysburg. Going down in the cool candlelit tavern is so unique.
The staff is dressed in period clothing and is very attentive.
This was my first time eating at the bar and it was nice to sit and chat with the bartender.
The food is always good and I make sure I leave room for desert.

The Gettysburg Diorama at the Gettysburg History Center was worth seeing. We were able to park our RV behind the Gettysburg Heritage Center less than a block away. The history center had a huge gift shop. If you are a fan of MAGA, Trump and Confederate paraphernalia, you will love it. If not, find out what time the next showing of the diorama is scheduled for and arrive just a few minutes in advance.
