Parineeti Chopra opens up about her love story with Raghav Chadha: ‘One breakfast together and I knew’

Parineeti Chopra got engaged to Raghav Chadha in an intimate ceremony on May 13 in New Delhi. After months of maintaining silence, the Bollywood actor, for the first time ever, has opened up about her love story with the politician. Taking to social media, the Ishaqzaade actor shared how one breakfast together made her realise that she had “met the one.”

Expressing her affection for Raghav, she wrote on Instagram, “When you know, you know. One breakfast together and I knew – I had met the one. The most wonderful man whose quiet strength would be calming, peaceful, and inspiring. His support, humour, wit, and friendship are pure joy. He is my home.”

Parineeti Chopra also shared some candid pictures from their dreamy engagement ceremony, one of which showed fiancé Raghav Chadha wiping off tears from her face, while another was of cousin sister Priyanka Chopra putting ‘teeka’ on Raghav’s forehead. Parineeti also shared pictures with her two brothers — Sahaj and Shivang.

Calling her engagement ceremony a ‘dream’, Saina actor added: “Our engagement party was like living a dream – a dream unfurling beautifully amidst love, laughter, emotion and loads of dancing! As we hugged those we loved dearest and celebrated with them, emotions overflowed.”

Parineeti, who as a little girl was in awe of princess stories (by her own admission), continued that she imagined how her ‘fairytale’ would begin — “now that it has, it is even better than I had imagined,” she added.

Previously, the couple had shared identical posts that read, “Everything I prayed for…I said yes. Waaheguru ji meher karan...”

Both had maintained secrecy around their relationship until they revealed their engagement.

For her special day, the actor opted for a lovely pastel pink silk kurta teamed with a matching dupatta with intricate threadwork designed by Manish Malhotra. Her stunning jewellery included polki earrings, a statement ring and a maang tikka from the designer’s jewellery label. For makeup, she went for soft pink tones and styled her hair in natural curls.

Raghav, on the other hand, looked suave in an ivory kurta made of pure khadi silk with matching pants and an achkan.

The engagement ceremony was attended by Priyanka Chopra and a slew of political bigwigs, including Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal and Bhagwant Mann, Congress leader P Chidambaram, Trinamool Congress’ Derek O’Brien and others.
