Lifetime dives into the dark side of motherhood with their upcoming true-crime film, "Mommy Meanest." This highly anticipated movie stars Lisa Rinna, known for her role on "The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills," in a chilling portrayal based on the real-life story of Kendra Licari. Licari, a 42-year-old basketball coach from Michigan, became the center of a shocking case that will leave viewers on the edge of their seats.
The inspiration for Mommy Meanest reportedly stemmed from Licari's mistreatment of her daughter and her boyfriend. It's said that the 42-year-old even accompanied her daughter when she reported the cyberbullying against her.
Licari supposedly used software to fake her phone number and location, allowing her to send texts from various numbers. An NBC News report revealed that many of Licari's messages contained hateful content, such as "Kill Yourself."
As reported by the Morning Sun, Licari, at her sentencing in April 2023, expressed her shame, embarrassment, and remorse to Judge Mark Duthie. During the proceedings, Judge Duthie remarked that he found it unimaginable for a parent to utter such cruel words to their own child. He further stated that cases like this reaffirm his decision to retire, expressing relief that his term is coming to an end.
According to the outlet, Licari entered a guilty plea in March 2023 and received a sentence of 19 months to five years in prison. The Michigan Department of Corrections states that Licari is currently incarcerated at the Women's Huron Valley Correctional Facility and will be eligible for parole on November 3, 2024.
In the movie Mommy Meanest, Lisa Rinna plays the character Madelyn, inspired by Kendra Licari. Rinna's real daughter, Briana Skye, takes on the role of Madelyn's daughter, Mia. This marks the first on-screen collaboration between a real mother-daughter duo.
Numerous fans of The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills are eagerly anticipating Rinna's portrayal in a unique role on screen. The film is set to debut on Saturday, May 11 at 8/7 C (US) and will be available for streaming on MyLifetime.com the following day after its premiere.
