Qantas Points calculators

Qantas Frequent Flyer members earn Qantas Points and Status Credits on each eligible Flight Segment in their booking. A Flight Segment is defined as travel on the same flight number between originating and destination airports as shown on your e-ticket or itinerary. For example, members travelling from Adelaide to Los Angeles with a change of flight number in Sydney would earn on both the Adelaide to Sydney and Sydney to Los Angeles Flight Segments. The results displayed are based on direct flights for the airline you have chosen (where the airline is the marketing and the operating carrier.

Within the Frequent Flyer Program there are different earn rates called Qantas Frequent Flyer Earn Categories that are aligned to the type of fare you purchase. Your Fare Type or Booking Class is generally available during the booking process. It is also displayed on your E-Ticket.

Qantas Points and Status Credits (where applicable) are earned on eligible flights with that airline's flight number on your ticket. Qantas Points and Status Credits may not be earned on some Fare Types, booking classes, flights or routes and the Qantas Frequent Flyer Earn category may be different to the cabin purchased. Always check your e-ticket for your Fare Type or Booking Class and reference against the Airline Earning Tables or contact the Frequent Flyer Service Centre before booking a flight directly with a partner airline. For an International booking which includes a Domestic Economy Saver Segment, select ‘Discount Economy’ to calculate the Qantas Points earned on that Segment.

This information should be used as a guide only.

Taxes, fees and carrier charges are payable in addition to the points required, which will be disclosed to you at the time of booking. You will also need to pay any local airport fees collected at the time of check-in. The points estimate provided by this calculator is generally based on the most direct travelling distance to the destination requested and does not include the cost of a stopover where required for connecting flights. Alternative routes may be available, however the number of points required may differ. The routes are based on current timetables, however these are subject to change and flights may not be available at the time that you make your Reward booking. The number of points and the taxes, fees and carrier charges ultimately quoted when you book may be different due to schedule or routing changes, use of other carriers or unavailability of seats on certain flights. Classic Flight Rewards are subject to capacity controls and availability is limited, particularly around peak times such as school and public holidays. The number of seats available depends on the flight, date, season and destination. Some flights may not have any Classic Flight Reward seats available. 

Classic Flight Reward fare conditions apply and are provided during booking. Reward seats must be booked at least 24 hours before scheduled departure (and other advance booking requirements may apply), unless you are booking on qantas.com where you can book up to two hours before departure for Domestic flights or up to four hours before departure for international flights. The number of Qantas Points quoted when you request your upgrade may be different to the points quoted by the calculator due to your ticketed city pairs. While the points estimate is based on the current timetable, this is subject to change and the upgrade class may not be offered at the time that you request your upgrade. Schedule or routing changes may impact the number of points required.

Classic Upgrade Rewards are available on Classic Flight Rewards in Economy and Premium Economy and eligible paid and confirmed Qantas domestic and international flights, with a Qantas (QF) flight number on your ticket and from time to time on codeshare flights operated by another carrier that have a QF flight number on your ticket. Classic Upgrade Rewards are subject to capacity controls and availability is limited. Classic Upgrade Rewards are not available from all fare types. See Classic Upgrade Reward tables for details. Classic Upgrade Rewards are not available on Classic Flight Rewards or on international airfares, including International Points Plus Pay – Flights with Qantas in E, N, O or Q class, which includes some International Red e-Deal fares.

For domestic flights within Australia: Discount Economy includes Red e-Deal fares booked in E, L, M, N, Q, O, S and V classes, and Group fares booked in G class; and b) Flexible Economy includes Flex fares booked in B, H, K and Y classes.

For international flights: a) Economy includes classes G, K, L, M, S and V; and b) Flexible Economy includes classes B, H and Y.

Seat products vary depending on aircraft type. Premium Economy is available on Qantas A380 aircraft and selected B747-400 aircraft.

International Business Lounges are only available in selected ports.

International First Class Lounge features are only available in our flagship Lounges currently offered in Sydney, Melbourne, Singapore, Hong Kong and Los Angeles.

Customers under the legal drinking age must be accompanied by an adult in any Qantas operated lounge. Legal drinking age may vary in different jurisdictions and countries.
