Nick Abdo is a forty-year creative professional in Motion Pictures, Television, and Interactive Media.

His start came in television as an Apprentice Writer/Production Assistant on The Odd Couple. After four months he became Associate Producer of that show, where he remained in that capacity for the remainder of the series. 

He went on to Associate Produce the first three-camera season of Happy Days and later became a producer of that series as well as Laverne & Shirley. 

He moved on to produce several other situation comedies before moving into feature films.  Some of his most notable film credits are Beaches with Bette Midler and Barbara Hershey; Overboard with Goldie Hawn and Kurt Russell; Nothing in Common with Tom Hanks and Jackie Gleason; and Frankie and Johnny with Al Pacino and Michelle Pfeiffer.

He functioned as an Associate Producer or Co-Producer or Executive Producer on those and other films before moving back into television where he produced or directed episodic television, pilots and Movies of the Week. 

He developed and Executive Produced Still The Beaver, the first live-action series on The Disney Channel.    

In Interactive Media, he produced and directed several edutainment software programs.  He created the concepts, designed the interfaces, wrote the design documentation, supervised the artwork, acting, programming, sound design and testing.  He also participated in the marketing of the products.  

He is the recipient of an International Television Association (Seattle Branch) Emerald City Award.  The 1998 Gold Award of Excellence in Interactive Multimedia was awarded for “Connie & Bonnie’s Birthday BlastOff”.

Following that, he spent two years living in the United Kingdom.  While there, he supervised post production on an ABC Mini Series entitled Dreamkeeper for Hallmark Entertainment.

In Feature films, his functions have usually been in a creative capacity.  More recently he has been functioning as a Line Producer on several Independent Features.  

In television, he functions as both a line producer and a creative producer.  He mounts the shows, participates in hiring the key personnel, creates the initial budget and schedule, takes part in casting, and supervises the production.  He is very influential in the style and look of the show.
A short film he wrote and directed, The Erogenous Zone was nominated best short at the 2009 Elgin Film Festival.

He spent five years as a film analyst for the California Film Commission, as well as working as a film consultant providing script and financing services to filmmakers.   

He also has written three scripts in the financing phase and a third that is currently out to talent.

His script “Hard Candy Christmas” was named “Best Screenplay” at the Nashville Film Festival.
