Mary of Denmark wears her most expensive tiara at gala dinner in Sweden

For the first time since they became King and Queen of Denmark, Frederik and Mary have been invited to a state banquet abroad.
The royals arrived in Sweden aboard the royal ship Dannebrog, a sort of 'floating palace', in which they crossed the Baltic Sea to reach Stockholm, where they were received on Monday morning, May 6, by their Swedish counterparts.
In addition to the King and Queen of Denmark and Sweden, the gala dinner was attended by Crown Princess Victoria and Prince Daniel, as well as Prince Carl Philip and Princess Sofia.
Queen Mary, stunning in a gold dress with an embroidered bodice, chose for the occasion her most valuable tiara, which is not only one of her favorites but is also linked to the history of the Swedish Crown. This is the ruby tiara with a matching necklace that Queen Ingrid gave to her grandson, the current King Frederik, when he was still single, so that when he married he would offer it to his wife.
