Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

- Joanne CEllesmere, UK446 contributionsWonderful Cathedral.we didn’t opt for a guided tour but there are frequent ones included in the ticket price. There is plenty to see and as the tours were passing we picked up several bits of information. We sat in the cloister for a while which is beautiful peaceful . Don’t miss Katherine Swynfords tomb. She is an immensely important part of the history of the royal family and the tomb has been visited by our own modern royals because of her importance.Written 23 May 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - quiller003Shrewsbury, UK255 contributionsA great day out. I recommend doing one of the (free) guided tours in addition to exploring on your own. If you go to see the Magna Carta make sure you go down to the basement to watch the short film about it, which puts it into contextWritten 22 May 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Donna and SamMansfield, UK58 contributionsWell what a little gem this was, found on the internet for something to do whilst visiting Lincs. It was an educational eye opener with lots of historical information!Written 19 May 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - masterreeceFarnborough, UK30 contributionsI was not sure what to expect but at times it was very moving. I am not a sentimental person but I am so glad I came. The exhibits, the Memorial is excellent. It is not anything like I expected. The tragedy of War and the sacrifices of 58,000 air-crew is staggering. All their names are recorded in such a tasteful way.Written 22 May 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - wingateLondon, UK2,644 contributionsVery interesting to see such an old building still functioning as a council chamber.
My late father was the mayor of our borough so I was very familiar with the mayor making process.Written 17 May 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews. - Old_Yorkshiremanyorkshire15 contributionsIt was raining when we arrived, so a visit indoors was the obvious start.
The welcome staff did just that. The unprepossessing entrance gives into one end of a hall, and we were made welcome with the sensation of visiting, say, an elderly relative for the first time. We didn't know each other, yet, but were nevertheless pleased to see each other.
The audio tour was explained, a little of the background to the Hall and ownership given and we were given free rein to wander around. My query about the table was answered fully and completely, and led to more explanation about carvings, which had a distinctly Gibbons-esque quality from a distance, but were made by a former owner.
The table, it turned out, was recent, and from a single fallen oak, yielding a one piece top around 6 metres in length. The whole with cunning breadboard ends and pleasantly chunky underframe on turned pillars.
The rest of the Hall is full of interest, and made the more so by the audio introduction to each room being made by the owners Claire and James, with their comments and reminiscences 'We used to roller skate in this room' lends a very human level of appreciation totally missing from many similar locations. Knowledgable and approachable room stewards who were happy to explain and discuss details.
The rain stopped, we toured the exceptionally soggy formal gardens, which are really worth another visit when the season has moved on and the plantings are flourishing.Written 5 May 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Reception lady Donna was very professional, friendly and helpful. Hut was lovely, clean, high standard and had lots of complementary items left for us. Nice that we're were given a breakfast voucher for our 2 days. Breathtaking views across the field. Was concerned about the crows nest box placed on a tree near the hut, we heard chick's in the box but due to us sitting on the decking it frightened the mother from the nest and it kept fleeing off. Needs to really be moved.
Good map board for hiking routes which we did lots of it. Good restaurant and good food. This site is a hidden jewel and has so much more potential for a tranquil break close to Lincoln. Thoroughly enjoyed our stay, it was no less then perfect all round.Written 19 May 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. This museum is free entry after all, so not sure what some of the negative reviewers were hoping for - we found it to be excellent. There were lots of happy little children enjoying the activities. We spent a good 2 hours there including a reasonably priced soup, sausage roll and baguette lunch. Our server was incredibly friendly and helpful- just what you need! Toilets were spotless. There was a Jason Wilsher-Mills exhibition which was great fun. Well stocked gift shop and a play area for the littluns'. A great visit and a lovely, modern building, a short walk from the castle and cathedral.Written 9 April 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - ILoveHolidays03Kingston-upon-Hull, UK190 contributionsWhat a fab day we had here! Took our 2 kids who are 8 and 5. They bottle fed lambs, held chicks, stroked rabbits and guinea pigs and fed the goats, cows and pigs.
We shot each other with air guns, played on the park, played crazy golf, various bouncy things, Go Kart's. The high flyer my daughter went on a lot. Unfortunately my son was too small which he was a bit gutted about.
The sandpit area was great and there's also a tractor ride and archery .
We took a picnic, there are so many picnic areas. We set up in the park area and was lovely.
We got there at opening time and left at closing, literally had a full day out there. We were blessed with a lovely sunny day and had such a lovely day.
Highly recommend!Written 18 May 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Parking isn't the best however and the facilities are sadly lacking. But to just get out there and stretch your legs, you can't go far wrong.Written 21 March 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - N DLincolnshire, UK1,385 contributionsThis is a beautiful, old fashioned, little theatre. Staff were very helpful and the seating was comfortable. Bars are as tiny as the theatre but it’s all part of its character.Written 5 May 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC.
