Very neat to see many of the animals that are native to Germany. Many of these are huntable species, so being able to see what they actually look like is neat. Several species of deer, wild boar, goats, ducks and geese, Scottish Highland cows. Many of the animals are available to feed and to pet. The kids looked like they were having a great time. The animal park itself is free. you just need to pay for parking. Animal signs are only in German, but it is easy to translate or search on your phone.

Parking next to the park is 3 Euro Monday to Friday and 5 Euro on the weekend. Bring exact change.

This was a nice little museum to get to see some ancient jewelry, luckily it was near my hotel so I could walk there. I spent a couple of hours walking around and the place was not very busy so there were no crowds waiting to see an exhibit, luckily when I got there a large group of school kids were leaving. The museum has a number of benches so you can rest. A nice place to visit but I would not go out of my way to see it.

This museum focuses on the production techniques and machinery of watch- and jewellery production. Especially the machines needed to produce a watch are shown on the 2nd floor. You will be astonished to learn how big are machinery in order to make microscopic tiny watch parts! You will also learn that Pforzheim was once the home of Europe´s largest watch-movement maker PUW.

This is like a quiet lane out of a romance novel. They don't get as much colour in the leaf display as Canada, but pretty good anyway at the right time of year. And the trees are good size, close to the road and healthy. The scenes transport you. Best walking or on a bike.

An interesting museum, only open on Sundays from 13:00-17:00. It was not easy to find, and few locals knew about it. All documentation is in German, so non-German speakers need to be on the guided tour from 14:00.

If you visit the church, you visit more than 800 year of history. In the second WW heavily damaged, but renewed in a very good form. It is worth to visit, to learn about the people who were living here.

This museum is small but amazing! I think it's only open on Sundays...but basically when they attemped to euilxcavate the ground in this area in the 1970's to build a new building, they discovered the remains of an ancient Roman city on site! The Pforzheim region is full of Roman settlements and history, although it can be hard to find information on sites to visit. This museum has information available if interested.

This museum allows one to walk through the remnants of the old city, a couple of meters below our current ground-level, and is fairly unknown, even among locals!

I actually have a travel blog and wrote a post on this particular museum, along with other historic sites in the general Pforzheim area. Here's the link:

In this small museum you will find everything - jewelery, watches, etc. It is very commercial, but a good selection.

This is the dirtiest pool I have come across in Germany.
The place was packed and there were more adults in the babies pool than actual babies... making the water oily and disgusting...
Went to get some ice cream for the kids and had to wait in the que for like 30 minutes... service was terrible and the atmosphere was horrible...
    Never again
