Got to the trailhead at about 11 AM on a Wednesday. I was shocked to see 5 cars in the parking lot and about 13 people total while hiking or at the falls. (Maybe it's Spring Break in this area) But it was a sunny and slightly cloudy day making a gorgeous hike. The falls were roaring and gorgeous as always. The hike is pretty easy and possible moderate for other people. I always prefer hiking counter clockwise but everyone is different. Be careful near the falls it's been muddy and I watched a woman fall trying to walk with her young child. She was fine and the child too. Be prepared for a little mud after some rain. It's not bad though. Fun little hike!
This is a great hike. There are two waterfalls on the trail and it's a pretty short trail. You start at the top where you can see the waterfall. If you go right, you may be doing more climbing on the way back up. I suggest going left. It is quite slick, especially near the main waterfall. Make sure to download the map or have someone that knows the trail because you'll need to climb some boulders and there are a few misdirects from people making their own paths. The only steep areas are getting up and down the sides. There's not a really good spot for a close overlook of the falls without it becoming dangerous. But the beauty of the views of the hike is worth every step.
This was a great hike to a really nice waterfall led by the friendly neighborhood dog we nicknamed "Rusty". He guided us from the trailhead to the falls & then took off on his own adventure. We went left at the loop & found it relatively easy to follow all the way around. If you've got small children, be mindful of the cliff edges. They don't really look like edges until they do; if you know what I mean. You should wear proper hiking boots and be hands-free as you make your way down & back up. Don't carry your baby in your arms or wear flip-flops. The water level is low, but it's still worthwhile, in my opinion.
This trail is beautiful! There are rock walls and the hike down to the falls is like hiking through a rainforest. The falls is impressive and the wade pool under it is deep enough for a swim. We were there yesterday and today. There was a rust colored dog there both days. Very friendly, but no owner in sight. Hopefully it belongs to one of the houses at the falls entrance.
Trail was a little muddy, but I'm sure it's from the recent rain we've had. The falls were absolutely beautiful! There was a couple spots we had to search for where the trail was. Other than that this trail and waterfall was definitely worth it! There's also tons of different kinds of fungii on this trail, my girls had fun trying to find all the different kinds!
