CLARKSBURG, W.Va. (WBOY) — U.S. Route 50 will undergo lane closures in both directions through Clarksburg beginning on Monday, Feb. 26.

The West Virginia Division of Highways (WVDOH) said in a press release that the closure is expected to last until Wednesday, July 31, though inclement weather or other unforeseen circumstances may change the project schedule.

The lane closures will be at the bridge over Elk Creek, which is near the Second Street exit at the parking garage.

WVDOH will be conducting 24/7 operations to repair the parapet wall and replace Elk Creek’s expansion dam, meaning the lane closures will last all day.

The WVDOH is advising drivers to expect delays, plan ahead and allow additional time for their commute. West Virginia Route 20 is the WVDOH’s alternate route.
