- Fergus SInverkeithing, UK68 contributionsVisited the winery when across from Scotland visiting friends who were members and had the tasting lunch. The venue was awesome and the staff exceptionally friendly and attentive. Have experienced taster menus from restaurants with paired wine but never wine tasting from a winery paired with food which was an interesting new slant for me. The wine and food were excellent and thoroughly enjoyed by all so surprisingly enough I’d recommend this experience to all…Written May 12, 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Part of it conveniently extends right in town, connecting directly to neighborhoods in eastern Santa Rosa as well as connecting by trail directly to a large county park (Spring Lake Park) and large city park (Howarth Park) in town. There are trailheads directly in town from the adjacent neighborhoods. However, it is very extensive, covering many square miles and extending over the mountains to the Sonoma Valley and towards the small town of Glen Ellen.
It includes mostly hilly, partly forested wild areas, but has picnic and bbq places as well. There re numerous unpaved dirt or gravel trails extending high into the hills above town and providing nice views over Santa Rosa as well as the surrounding countryside.
There is also a reservoir, Lake Ilsanjo, which provides nice swimming in warm weather. There are streams flowing through the park as well.
This provides a lot of great hiking, running, bicycling, boating and other activities, all easily accessed in town.
It is free to enter this park on foot but one must pay if driving in and parking.Written April 21, 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Johnny was our docent and he was knowledgeable, giving us a history of Luther Burbank and his life and the plants he propagated. There is a small museum/gift shop in the former carriage house. Our tour lasted about 45-60 minutes. Parking is on the street around the home. Well worth a stop.Written October 17, 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
- Tom PBaton Rouge, LA12 contributionsWords can’t describe how beautiful this property is. We booked a private tasting and Jeff was excellent! From the relaxing seating down by the picturesque lake, to the views of the surrounding areas, to the tour of the tunnels, this experience exceeded our expectations. I highly recommend adding this to your itinerary if you are in the area.Written June 3, 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - EdwardSanta Rosa, CA2,484 contributionsHowarth Park is one of the largest, and probably the most varied, city park in all of Sonoma County. It includes a large playground with western town, climbing structures, and more, plus a smaller playground in a different area; lawns; bbq areas; a small train to ride; a merry-go-round; a lovely lake with paddle boats to rent, sailing classes, and more; and bicycling, hiking or walking trails, both paved and unpaved, through shaded oak forest and the remains of historic basalt quarries. We go here all the time. We used to take our kids to the train or playgrounds and now we hike here on a regular basis. Moreover, the park and its trails link directly into the larger Spring Lake County Park and from there to the much larger and more wild Annadel State Park. Altogether, these make a huge and varied park system which starts right in town and goes out for many miles into the hilly countryside.Written October 13, 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Daryl CDanville, CA993 contributionsThe railroad square isn't big so I wouldn't make a special trip to see it. However, if you're in town and a fan of Peanuts, swing by. There are a few statues of Peanuts characters, a shaded grass area and a great coffee shop.Written July 20, 2021This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - esther hallGreer, SC4 contributionsSanta Rosa’s hidden gem.
It’s more than just a winery… it’s an art sculpture garden, a stellar view, a tasty tasting room, an event mecca, a JOYFUL EXPERIENCE, and above all: The BEST hangout for all the zesty turkeys in your life (both of the feathered and non-feathered variety).
Even though I was only in town for a few days, I ended up at Paradise Ridge 3 times(!!), simply because I couldn’t get enough of the amazing staff, the friendly crowd, and the wildly-whimsical and jubilant events they host.
For example: a Tuesday Morning wine tasting where I first tasted the lovely juice, learned a bit of the fascinating Japanese heritage of the space/brand, met the vineyard turkeys IRL…On Wednesday - Wine & Sunsets, where my tastebuds were set ablaze by Eddie’s incredible tacos, and the band serenaded the dance-y crowd with California Jazz classics circa 1920 - 1960 … and Thursday - they hosted the funniest, sassiest, silliest Murder Mystery party.
The event team at Paradise Ridge is en fuego, executing a new level of curated creativity wine lovers.
If you are visiting the Santa Rosa area, you absolutely MUST check them out. But be forewarned, you will be sad (like, truly SAD) to leave them behind.
If you live in the area, know that you have a totally rad community up the hill transforming the way you experience FUN in life.

The annual Dave Koz Christmas Concert (26+ yrs.) supporting the "Starlight Children's Fund" had a lovely feeling of intimacy with the bands performers & a full audience. Seats are comfortable w/great leg room! A variety of snacks & beverages are offered in the spacious lobby but unfortunately beverages are not allowed in the theatre. Restrooms are nearby & generous. Parking is ample & free, with staff to direct cars to closest handicap spaces; especially helpful on a dark & stormy evening.Written December 26, 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC.
