I have really enjoyed playing Division I soccer for Cathedral High School for the past 4 years. The coaches are great, we have a new field and gym, and the team travels for a few tournaments. I have also really enjoyed the spiritual development at this school and have learned a lot about myself when it comes to my faith. The teachers are great and take a lot of interest in us and encouraging us to prepare for college after high school. I have been accepted to majority of the the colleges I have applied to - both in California and out-of-state - and think that is due to the rigorous academic curriculum at Cathedral. It is a small school and it would be nice if there was a larger indoor cafeteria, but we make due with the outside tables. Parking is also a problem at times - especially during Dodger season.
Cathedral has helped me overcome a lot of things in life, like diversity , adversity etc. The school is best at trying to make people feel accepted and understand that you should give before receiving. The best parts about the schools is how involved they get you. The worst is that lots of students are extremely racist and if theirs no other admin or adult around, things that should fly will simply be let go because the higher ups aren’t around to supervise.
Cathedral High School was good to me. Cathedral taught me a lot about how to deal with the challenges and obstacles of life in a variety of ways. Overall it was a tough but valuable experience being there for four years.
