I've taken in 3 wonderful performances here and participated in one! Just the great hall is a wonder in and of itself. I was in awe of it the first time when we saw Phantom there 6 yrs. ago. Since then I had the great pleasure of joining the 9/11 Chorus in a requiem on 2011. I was privileged to go back stage and see the Great Concert Organ from there and the wonderful facilities for the performers---and then we went on stage and looking out at that huge audience, the balconies, the interior design, the lighting and the incredible acoustics and it nearly brought me to tears. I still cannot believe this world class venue is in my home town! Please if you must, save money for a performance or take a tour or better yet, take the little ones to a Sat. Children's performance in the Rotunda. This is another MUST go for people of all ages.

Concert was fun, a nice trip back in time. Acoustics were perfect for this concert. Tickets were reasonable, not always the case, some venues are priced out as if they were being performed in New York. Parking convenient.

I've been twice at the Overture Center for the Arts. The first time to visit a photo exposition in the Galleries, which was free, the second to attend the Nutcracker performance at one of the theaters. It's a multifaceted center, that you can visit in different ways and enjoy differently. A modern space hosting also a small shop.

We LOVE the Overture of the Arts. They have a Festival every year. In 2016 they are changing it to January. They have people from all over the world preforming for FREE! It is an all day event with vendors and food vendors representing the different Countries. This is TRULY a can't miss!!

A majority of seats in the house are good. Pricey, but good. My preferred area is orchestra circle, and I'm willing to pay for that vantage point. Box seats are available also, and the view there is surprisingly good.
One wonderful feature of the Overture Center: Before the show begins, patrons may pre-purchase beverages for pick-up at Intermission. Frequently an additional free-standing bar area is set up to handle the crowds with barely a wait.
The restrooms are nice, clean, and very well maintained. And the line for the ladies' room moves along surprisingly quickly.
Another lovely feature for certain performances is the "Lottery Line." How it works: At a certain time before the performance, would-be patrons without tickets may wait on line for a ticket lottery for a limited number of seats. Orchestra circle seats are rarely included in the lottery, but at least one has a 50/50 chance at seeing a sold-out show.
One of my favorite smaller city performance venues.

Enjoyed a Martha Redbone concert in this spectacularly beautiful venue. The acoustics were perfect for her soulful renditions. I find myself looking for other shows to enjoy here.

The Overture Center is a modern performing arts center with one large theater that seats about 2200, a smaller theater that seats about 1000, a playhouse that seats about 400 and three smaller studios/performance spaces in addition to art galleries and a museum of modern art. Because of the top-notch facility, they get the top tier Broadway touring companies and well known performers from this country and overseas. In addition to the touring shows, there are many free and low-cost family friendly events throughout the season. The facility is beautiful and the programming varied, from musicals to stand-up to classical music and rock'n roll to quiet plays to world music and lots more. Definitely worth a visit when in Madison.

A very funny and intelligent play. The cast was great. Each player gets their moment to shine. A great example of why live theater is so wonderful.
