The good:
1. mobile home was stylish, modern, clean and the mattresses were comfortable enough
2. The pools were great, one for every age and the beach was nice too. I would say the place was great if your kids are under 11
3. Argeles isn't as near as we thought, but once there the beach cafes are great and the old town is also nice although quite a walk from the beach area
4. They put on different entertainment every night although we found it all a bit naff however the French families seemed to love it all

The bad:
1. be very careful which mobile home you book - ours did not come with towels which we'd assumed would be there as standard! We had to use our beach towels after showering, yuk. No provision to rent them either. That's not my idea of a 5 star camping resort. The pillows were also awful. I had to put my bulkier clothes under my pillow to get the right support.
2. The reception staff did not know information I would have thought standard like the times of the local tourist train into Argeles.
3. There is a massive theme park and water park right under the resort and you can hear the noise every night. it's not too bad, but this isn't a quiet peaceful place to come
4. There are no sunloungers at the pool, just chairs or you lie on the fake grass
5. The onsite supermarket is limited and expensive and the nearest one off site is quite a way away so beware if you aren't coming with a car. Taxis were very expensive so we walked it but meant our meals were limited to what we could carry
6. There were only 5 hangers in our mobile home which was inadequate and you have to pay for sheets. Again not my idea of a 5 star resort. This should come as standard. You also have to clean the caravan properly on leaving! Mopping floors and wiping windows isn't my idea of a holiday but could have cost us 80 euros if we hadn't
7. If you are leaving via a taxi on check out please pre-book! We didn't know to do this and missed our booked train as a result

We have been coming to this campsite for years and we love it but the last few years its facilities are getting worse. The showers, toilets and washing up areas are not as clean as usual and at the sanitary block near our van the cleaners didn’t really clean😱 they took everything of the menu except pizzas at the takeaway. Some of the water taps had been turned off or broken and although it was the low season le soleil state on their website that off season you get the same facilities

Plot was nice and shady, close to the toilets (very clean) and beach.
Daft rule in the pool about no shorts ''because of covid'' - w.t.f. They should be more concerned about the lack of social distancing in the pool area.
Ridiculous.
Luna Park which is 500m away was incredibly noisy until the early hours.
Would choose somewhere further away next time

Stayed here for one week but greatly disappointed, expected a 5* Standard but this place is no more than a 3*, very rough campsite, the pathways to the mobile was very uneven, seen very small kids trip on more than one occasion. One restaurant where the food is good but very, very expensive. The pool was great and kids loved it and that's why I've given it 2* that's for the pool only.
Having stayed in 5* eurocamp in Italy and Spain this was a huge disappointment and eurocamp inspectors need to review this camp. This is not just my opinion but of many irish and brits that we spoke to on our holiday, not what we expected at all.

We didn't like this site at all. Luckily we were only staying a couple of nights, if we'd have booked like a two week holiday here I would have been gutted.
To start with you have to wear wrist bands the whole time and have to pay a fine it you misplace it!
It's a huge site and our picth was roughly in the middle. The sanitary blocks were ok-ish.
The beach wasn't very nice at all. There was no one on the beach mainly because the sand is really rough and it can get really windy along this coast line.
the worst though is at night...what they failt to mention is that it's next door to lunar park...a night time theme park which gets going at about 9pm and goes on until about 3 or 4 am. You can hear people screaming with delight on the rides until the early hours...great for them but not great if you are sleeping in a tent or caravan right next to it.
The whole area actually surrounding the site like Argeles is not particularly nice. It's like Skegness or Bognor on the med, just with nicer weather. There are far nicer places in France to visit.

Sorry that you don't like our campsite and it seems the whole area. You don't mentioned the date you visit us, but during season the main reason to stay here is that our campsite is directly on the beach, and people love that, as you can see on videos placed on our website, and they don't find the sand rough. For the wind, sometimes it blows, sometimes not, we really can do nothing about it! For the noise coming from Luna Park, we are making tests all along the year and all indicate that the noise is below legal limits. Maybe a couple of nights is not enough to form an opinion.

Can only reflect previous reviews, safe, unpretentious holiday spent mainly by the pool or on the beach.
Went with Eurocamp who were unfailingly helpful and the new beds were wonderful! Base run by Chris was great for my 14 year old and Fun Stations Vicky, Mel and Cat were unfailingly patient with my know everything nine year old!
To be honest the pool and beach occupied the children for the majority of the time, pool had no lifeguard but was patrolled by an efficient supervisor who controlled some liveliness without being a party pooper.
Luna Park was not a problem, there was noise but the sort of noise that you can ignore.
Argeles Port is a lovely evening destination with different restaurants to reserve any taste. Collioure is a great afternoon trip. Take the evening boat Tuesday or Thursday returning at 10 pm (don't be phased when they tell you that the boat does not leave from Collioure and get the land train from next to the carousel at 10pm - it does arrive)
Carcassonne is a bit further but a lovely experience, swords and shields and a fun tournament show although my school French could not provide the continuous translation that my children NEEDED!
Avoid, on site restaurant, service fairly shabby but food OK. Better to get takeaway.

I am just back from a 2 week great break in Le Soleil with my husband and 3 children. We booked through Canvas Holidays, my younger children loved hoopi's (kids club) and made lots of friends there. The two leaders Laura and Liz were lovely. The two bed comfort plus canvas mobile with air con and deck was ample for our three children aged 13, 11 and 9.The only downside of going with Canvas Holidays to this site they don't run a teenage club which my 13 year old would have been interested in but my daughter managed to meet other children through the site run clubs. There was great entertainment in the bar however it is quite expensive. The pool was great but not great for children who aren't confident in the water only a very small area is shallow.
The site shop was well stocked with lots of known brands, lovely fresh bread and croissants all day. It wasn't very expensive. The restaurant had a great takeaway but was quite busy in Saint Cyprien beach which has lovely soft golden sand. All in all we had a great holiday and we plan to be back next year. There was lots to do around the area, ropes courses, Luna park which hosted lots of great rides, go karting, horse riding, paintballing, crazy gold etc etc......
Very safe site and kids loved all the freedom.

I stayed here in July with my family, 3 adults and 2 children.

Le Soleil is a medium sized campsite located at the end of a small road off the main coastal route in Argeles Sur Mer.

The site itself is well maintained with decent facilities, plenty of mature trees so lots of shady areas when it gets very hot (which it did).

There is a well stocked supermarket on site which is not too expensive with freshly baked baguettes always available, and a tabac selling international newspapers, sweets, beach toys, gifts etc. with a small cafe attached serving coffee and churros.

A well maintained childrens playground and sports field are right next to the cafe so parents can enjoy a coffee while they watch their children play. Also next door to the tabac is the site animation office which organises the sites kids club (we didn't use this as we had booked through Eurocamp who have their own free kids club) the office also has lots of information about local activities.

There is a restaurant with a takeaway service neither of which we used although I didn't think the prices looked too bad. There was a bar attached to the restaurant, a bar near the entrance to the beach and the swim up pool bar, drinks at these were not cheap though.

The site swimming pool is lovely, there is a selection of pools with different depths and a swim up bar. At the time we visited (first week of July) it was quite busy, but not mobbed. We visited the pool everyday between 10 and 12 then between 4 and 6 and we always managed to get loungers.

The beach was a short walk away and was okay. The views of the Pyrenees were stunning, the water was crystal clear and warm however the sand was quite rough
and even quite shingly towards the water. During the day there are pedaloes and jetskis for hire. We always visted during the evening as the beach was much quieter and it was cooler (36 degrees plus during the day while we were there).

The location of our mobile home was perfect except for one thing, it was within earshot of the park disco (next to the pool complex), this ran from 12-3am most nights and 12-6am on a Friday. The noise level was enough to keep us awake on several nights so if you are wanting a quiet night take some earplugs.

The park offers tennis, boules, horse riding, diving lessons, aqua aerobics, table tennis and a gym. There is internet access near the entrance of the park. You could either pay 1 euro per 15 minutes using the park computers in a small building or you could use the wifi system with your own laptop in a covered area behind this building.

For things to do outside of the park there is an Aqualand park nearby (5-10 minute drive) at St Cyprien, which although quite small, is very well maintained and well laid out. Next door to Le Soleil there is a big Luna Park funfair (open from 9pm), during the day at the back of the Luna Park is a canyoning centre, a treetop rope park, adventure golf, mini cars and mini boats. The easiest way to reach this on foot is to follow the walking path along the river (Littoral) which is right outside the park entrance and you will come to a small gate leading into the park.

I highly recommend visiting Collioure which is a lovely fishing village just up the coast, this can be reached by car or by boat from Port Argeles.

Overall I would recommend this park to others, and most likely stay here again.

This is an excellent campsite. We are an English family who drove down from Roscoff. Because of its popularity, we booked in October. Mindful of comments about the beach bar and Luna park, we asked for nice pitch near the beach and away from the bar. We were allocated pitch 8 which was perfect. It's well worth viewing the camp map showing the pitch numbers. There is no guarantee that you will get a particular number but you could get the camp area of your choice. What are the key points a family would need to know before booking? The facilities are great- no other camp site has direct access to the beach and a great pool complex. The beach is popular, but it is long and wide and at 10am on a summers morning you will be virtually on your own. You can safely leave your towel and come back later. The backdrop of the Pyrennees is a bonus. There has been mention of the wind on the beach in previous reviews but we come to Cornwall and is nothing to be concerned about. There were some days that were totally windfree and others that were breezy. The pool complex is busy most of the time but we always managed to find somewhere to sunbathe, even if it meant going on the grass and then keeping an eye out for a vacant sunchair (which are good quality). The flumes are great for kids and the large pool is always quiet enough for a swim. There is also an adult only area with soothing water jets. Unusually, all pools are heated in summer. The check in was rapid and professional. We had ordered a fridge for the week and it was waiting on our plot. The price was 30 euros and if you can afford it we would recommend it. The other on site facilities were excellent- shop, restaurants etc. Wifi- an issue I am sure for your children is only available (Aug 2014) in the area outside of the newsagents near the pool. there are benches there and people were happily sitting there drinking a coffee and surfing. There is also a cash machine on site if you need immediate cash. The noise- we could hear the beach bar more than Luna park, but neither were too, intrusive and did not continue past midnight. Either way, we always slept well but you will have to weigh up the noise in other parts of the site. Each part of the campsite had a block that contained showers, toilets, hand washing sinks for clothes and dishes. These were exemplary. Hardly any waiting time and frequently banks of empty cubicles. They were also constantly cleaned. These were probably some of the best camping facilities we have come across. Downsides? This is one of the better campsites south of Perpignan and as such is large and busy, but was well managed and never felt overwhelming. Some pitches are close to shops or by the regular route to the beach or pool and they may have a different perspective, but we had a large pitch, away from the crowds ( we would rather take a short walk to the pool rather than have it on our doorstep) and thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The area outside of the campsite (Argeles sur mer) is a popular holiday destination with hundred of campsites. The roads can get clogged so factor this in. It can be a little tacky but you can escape it by driving a few km or retreating to the campsite. This site is in its 50th year and they have got most things right. Is it perfect ? -no. There are quieter and more upmarket sights away from Argeles but they wont be as good for families. if you want a quality site that offers children of all ages the distractions they need to give you a break- than this is for you. It is a great to have the choice of beach or pool.

We (4 adults and 3 kids) stayed here for May half term thru Keycamp. We had 2 Villanovas which were clean and well equipped. The on site a la carte restaurant is excellent and great value but the takeaway is not - do not eat here. The site itself had a football pitch, tennis court, volleyball court, basketball court and pool - everything 3 boys (aged 11,11 and 9) could want. The site was quiet and calm and there was no raucous music playing until the early hours although it would appear that this is a different story in July/Aug when the site disco opens. The site is next to an amusement park which again was only partly open but we went go-karting and the kids went to the Argeles Adventure which was a great 3 hours for 15 euros. Again, I'm sure the noise levels increase in July/Aug as the amusement park is open until 1am and it appeared to have the usual fairground rides. Argeles itself was lovely - fabulously clean beach and great restaurants. Coilloure is worth a visit and we also walked to Port Argeles where there was even more choice of restaurants. From reading other sites, I think this is a case of two cities - the July/Aug one and the out of season one. We would recommend out of season.
