I love this soundtrack it's just so great! But it's to short. That's a shame. But if you are a real Basil Poledouris fan I think you should get this soundtrack right away.

The music in this soundtrack sounds like action film music, not a comedy movie. Nevertheless, Basil Poledouris does a fantastic job in composing the music. The music on the whole has the trademark Poledouris sound with that enormous orchestral sound. The major action cues "Dipsong Fight", "Reel 5", "Colonel Torture", "Gotta Light?", "Compound Escape", and "Saddam Battles/Freedom Fighters" have awesome brass sounds and lots of snare drums, giving it a militaristic sound. There are some quieter cues on the album as well, giving a rest from the bombastic action music. The action music however is what makes the score awesome. "The Flurvian Sea" contains the song "Innamorata" by Harry Warren and Jack Brooks. Its a funny little italian love tune thrown in there to give romance to the Lady and the Tramp scene in the film with the spaghetti noodle slurping. A negative thing about the score, which doesn't give it 5 stars is the very short length (29:51), which can't really be helped because it's so expensive to put out a score recorded in L.A. The music itself is awesome and bombastic, which fans of action music will enjoy every minute of.
