Hi Texas,

I'm Christine, a Windows user like you. I'll do my best to help you.
I can see here that you would like to allow your child to play multiplayer on Minecraft.

Have you tried to check the setting from the parent's account already? If not, please set it up by following the steps below:

Note: Please use the parent account to sign in.

Please sign in to https://account.microsoft.com/
Click Privacy Settings
Then click the "Xbox privacy and online safety" link.
Click the tab for your child's account

You should see the option that says "You can join multiplayer games" which you may switch from block to allow.

Please let me know the result. I'll be happy to assist you all the way until it's resolved.

Thank you,

It seems like this is broken. In the MS account page there is no xbox privacy and online safety link. There is however a "privacy settings in our products' banner with a xbox logo in it.

However this just goes to a sales page with nothing that resembles family settings.

Why make everything to incredibly complex that it keeps breaking?

Agree this is frustrating-- they keep changing where this is located.

This used to be on the Xbox family settings page: https://account.xbox.com

This has now been replaced by the app -- "Xbox Family Settings".

Download this app (PC or Mobile) and then has a setting for "Allow Multiplayer" for children on your account.

Home (xbox.com)

Hope this helps!

It took me like 10 min to get to the right page.

Once you get to the Privacy screen, go down the page and click on the Xbox white-X-on-green-circle icon (my child plays minecraft on windoze so it is confusing why the settings are under Xbox!) I also had to create an Xbox account (why???)

Once you have your account, click on the profile picture on the upper right corner and then Privacy Settings then hopefully you see yourself and your child/children side by side. Click on the child and then wait ... I dont know why it takes so long. Once you see your child's name underlined in green, click on Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, and Windows 10 devices Online Safety and then select Allow in You can join multiplayer game and Submit

Hi! So I've changed my settings in xbox to allow me multiplayer, but it still won't let me. It says it's an issue with my windows and not xbox, even though I've tried everything under the sun to fix it and even when i try to change it in family settings it doesn't give me any options at all to change my privacy or multiplayer settings.

This is the most frustrating thing ever. From just buying the game, to allowing them the ability to play the game via LAN - I would rather **** than go through any of this **** again. Great job microsoft

That is exactly what I have run into... I have spent too much time when this should be a simple easy fix. I tried adding my kid again separately under a different email address and still getting the run around. Microsoft needs to step up. I can't even get a human on the phone to assist. At least Apple has live people outside of normal business hours for actual customer service. I have not found anything that works to correct this. I tried adding my kid again separately under a different email address and still getting the run around.

hah, and there I was expecting to see an end to this thread with a 'this fixed it!' - very disappointed!!

I'm seeing basically the same thing, my kid has been set to 'allow multiplayer' and I've actually gone ahead and fully allowed *all* configurable options - no dice. Still get the 'multiplayer is disabled' error when joining a realm. I guess I'll try uninstalling and re-installing in case it's a caching issue on my side or Microsoft's

*shrugging intensifies*
