I hate it here. We are all guilty until proven innocent. Most students here including me have thought of ending our lives. They don’t actually care about you. Only a good experience here if you’re rich, white, and popular. Recently I’ve been verbally abused by one of my teachers. All teachers do here is yell. Nothing changes. Security everywhere. I can’t wait to leave and be free. We aren’t even allowed outside. Beautiful campus and yet we can’t go out to see it. They gotta stop treating us like little kids. And the whole no water bottles at the games? Ridiculous.
At Libertyville high school the best parts we’re when we had our spirit days for dances or sports. Always seeing the spirit in the hallways made it so enjoyable and that will always be my favorite part about attending this school. I can say though while most teachers were amazing I never felt ready to be able to take on college classes and work once i’m there. I never really got taught what college classes and things of that sort would be like in a classroom. Not until this last semester in one class. When I walked in the first week of government class you could tell it was going to be hard, which I expected. But once I began assignments and tests I knew the teacher of this class was the only one that was attempting to get us students ready for what we will have to deal with everyday in college. I would love to see a change in teaching ways even if it’s small. I wanna see teachers begin to introduce work that will help us ready for college at least by our junior year.
Libertyville High school(LHS) is a great for people striving to learn. I felt I had a great overall experience as LHS offered all of its students a wide variety of classes, sports, clubs, and extracurriculars. I was able to explore different subjects and activities such as Engineering, graphic communication, and Musical theater running crew. There was a sense of community, especially when football games were happening or school dances, where almost everyone went and talked about it. LHS was a great school for me, i made many friends and expressed my interests to the fullest.
